I have visited St. Aidans Cathedral, a number of times, during visits to relatives near Enniscorthy. Visits to this Roman Catholic Cathedral were due to religious purposes. It is a solemn, peaceful & impressive church to visit. It is a distinctively shaped long, narrow, high built & Gothic style Cathedral. Built from 1843. Consecrated in 1860. Designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (b-1812 - d-1852). The Cathedral is dedicated to St. Maedoc of Ferns (feastday 31st January), also known as St. `Aedan or Aidan who died 626. I attended a wedding there. It was perfect. I would recommend a visit to this place just to look at the beautiful high wooden ceiling, the beautiful decorative walls, the fabulous 2 altars and even just to see the names of all the bishops since St aidan in 652 who served there. My paternal grandmother was Sarah Patricia Kenny ('nee Murphy) (known to everyone as Sally).
I know that she had a sister by the name of Eilish, who had a son named Jesse, could anyone help me...
