Before I comment on this id like to make clear to all reading this that in no way do I blame the staff for the day I had visiting here. The day went as follows drove from Dublin and arrived at 2.30pm Easter Sunday to have some family fun.We wanted to play a game of bowling and the next lane free was at 4:00pm not a problem we would grab a bite to eat and play a few other games while waiting so off to the cafe/restaurant we go {3.00pm} and my brother in-law orders his food {1/4 pounder & chips} and my partner orders for the 5 of us {2 adults & 3 kids} The order went as follows.. Chips, cheese, bacon & sauce Chicken fillet bugger & chips 1/4 pounder & chips ~ 2 kids hamburgers & chips. After ordering we went to find a table that we all could sit at but any large table still had waste food on it & not clear to sit at so we had to move all the plates to another table ourselves even tho the place was not to busy at this time in the evening about 20mins pass and brother in-law gets his food 10mins later my partner & son get there food 5 mins later 2 kids get there food. 10mins pass & still no sign of my food so my partner asks the server about it and was told it was on the way so I wait.Everyone had finished there food and still no food for me so {3.45}.Another group that came in 20mins after me was starting to receive there food.So I go up to the counter to see where my food is and its at this point I was in shock at what I seen the server had picked up a bowl of chips poured them onto a plate and put cheese on top and placed it in the microwave.Goes into the kitchen {out of view}the other server sees me at the counter and asks me can she help me.I asked where my food is and her reply was {shes doing it now}.Sorry after what I seen for the price id at least expect freshly cooked chips not microwaved reheated chips.Refund plz. So I had a twirl bar out of the vending machine for my dinner as we had to go bowling the time is now 3.55pm. The reason I said at the start I dont blame the staff is for the tasks they where doing was to much here is how it went 2 staff on at the time one to cook the food the other staffs duty's was to manage (Restaurant floor & Clear tables,Take orders,Deliver food to tables,Man the prize ticket area, man the ice-cream bar this for one staff member is in my eyes slave work practices make as much profit and pay as little to get the job done. Now for the bowling was a complete waste of time and money the balls where only fit for the bin think of playing with balls that resemble the surface of the moon & you not be far off what you have in your hand the lanes had not been waxed in quite sometime as anyone will know that a lane should be like a glass like finish to it more like a low grade sheet of sandpaper to play on not so fun.So in high in sight I drove 1 hour for no food & bad equipment and wasted 5hrs & 30mins of the day in total to be back where I started & was in no way impressed at all. ps: To the the staff you can only do so much as one person this is simply down to a high profit hungry employer and not the staff it starts with the top and works its way down the ladder so I don`t in anyway blame yous for the lack of service but commended you in how polite & apologetic you where. But you should not have to apologise for others lack of proper staffing and resources to accommodate the...

Its the nostalgia factor that has boosted this score to a 5 star. Now, thats not to take away from the lovely staff and amenietys available, its just that i seek the arcades in places like these, and the one here is sub-par. They have pretty much gone full ticket machine, and its just something i dont appreciate, though im sure a young audience would. That being said, the crazy golf is great fun, the bowling alley is well maintained, there is outdoor activities such as water zorbing, i just cant clarify when these activities are available. There is also a small casino located on the premesis, however, this is nicely tucked away and signposted for over 21s only. If the casino is what you aim for, then this is a lovely little quiet version, especially offset against the courttown amusements, which gathers a much larger, more avid casino community. In short, a great day out with kids (courttown is in general), a relaxed casino, and a tidy little cafe with some...

We went for indoor activities due to weather. Where would you start... Children's ball pool and play area... The area was a bit dangerous and unsupervised for most of the time there the lights went off and left the children in the dark and it was cold. The toilet hadn't a window for light and also didn't have a light that had blown that morning and in the toilet there was a small door which led into a construction type site and a lot of water running in behind the door??? But there was a sign that said slippery surface at the open door that looked like an adventure into narnia. The young girl had no interest in it and there was no one working over the age of 19 to 20 years old. The games area was unsuitable for children and change machines out of order. Need to have a look at the whole running of this...

Random trip to the funfair and amusements beside pirates cove located just down the road from courtown harbour. Myself and son decided to go in on our way back to Portlaoise after collecting him in riverchapel. We enjoyed some time together on some rides, twister, walzters skydiver bumpers and a spooky walk through the not so spooky haunted house. There is great deals on offer when getting the tokens so we picked up 20 with 5 free just enough for the time we had to spare. My son was tall enough to drive on the bumper cars for the first time which was cool. After the funfair we went to Q amusements across the road we played some VR, car rally games, horse racing and won some tokens to buy some prizes available. The trip wasn't planned but we enjoyed the time spent there. Lovelay day and will return at some point.

We booked in for Crazy Golf and I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed. The fact there was a large queue making you feel like you had to rush through each course really but a dent in any enjoyment you could possibly have. The course also looks tired and worn out in places, I’d say investment and refurbishment is sorely needed in order to secure some sort of future for this establishment. I saw a few “that’ll do” repair jobs dotted about the place and you could tell there was no real thought put into it. I just can’t help but walk away feeling that it could be so much better. I will say however that I did enjoy the “pirates theme” and it did look like the kids were absolutely enjoying themselves so perhaps I’m just not the target market.

I visited today to go bowling, we booked by ringing and it was very easy to book a slot. We arrived a little early but were able to start anyways. It was 38 euro for 4 people for an hour. If you try to do one game in 30 minutes then you should fit in 2 games. However the game seemed kind of rigged, I scored a spare and it said I got 3 and it happened more than once. The staff were really nice and friendly and it wasn’t busy because it was off-season. It’s something fun to do in Courtown especially on rainy days when things are closed. I really enjoyed it but the mistakes in the game were a real let down to be honest.
