The gardens are impressive, the Japanese garden lovely to explore with kids though on the small side, cafe food has decent food and not too over priced, the playground is great for my little one who is 4 but just starting to grow out of it for my 11 year old. The horse race experience is my oldest son’s favorite part. We had season passes and came pretty often in rain or shine. The tour is interesting to hear how racing came to Ireland. Overall really lovely but without a season pass we probably wouldn’t come bc individual prices for tickets are very expensive. Also their seminars and talks are out of my price range as well. It’s unfortunate bc I would love to attend as I have really gotten into gardening. The bonus of having a season pass though is every major holiday they have something on for kids like Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc and it’s free. Sometimes it even has free foods and bouncy castles. This alone makes it worth getting the season pass.

Second time doing the National Stud & Gardens tour. It is a brilliant experience to have if visiting Ireland or just when having a day out with the family. The Japanese garden is a must to visit. Amazing landscaping, nice trails to walk on, just an ideal place to have a relaxing, peaceful walk. The playgrounds are just great for the kids to have some fun and burn out some of the energy and the green areas around with tables to sit at and take a break just a nice touch. Everything is tidy and well kept. The Racecourse Experience has changed since the first time we've done it and not for the better, as customer service. Since the start we have been greeted by the manager with a "NO" (negative) atitudine, insisting on what the 7 y.o. is NOT allowed to do, that continued at the very end. We felt un welcomed, hurried along and just regretting having taken it. Hence the reason for the missing 5th star on the review.

We visited the Stud and gardens today, it was mostly cloudy followed with a bit of sunshine later in the day. We came a group of two families - teenagers from 11-17 , we opted for guided tour which brought us through the history of the stud and explained what is happening there, etc... Despite the fact that I wasn't big fan of horses I found the tour interesting and the guide was entertaining and also funny, which was a great extra. The surroundings are truly beautiful and the Japanese Garden is amazing, beautiful, a real gem 💎. Downside was a constant stream of people, there was not a minute you could sit and enjoy the beauty and calmness of the place...but that's expected on a Bank holiday weekend, especially when the weather is nice. There is a restaurant and seemed to have plenty to choose from. Coffee was great. It was a great day out.

IRISH National stud farm instantiated in 1900 by Colonel William Hall Walker, who inherited the family money (from brewing beer) and had allegedly 1000+ girlfriends in his lifetime. Walker became the most successful horse breeder of the age, used astrology in his breeding process. WALKER lend King Edward VII his finest horse Minoru, born and raised at Tully. King Edward VII led Minoru into Epsom’s winners’ enclosure following a famous victory in the 1909 Derby. In 1915, Walker gifted the farm and all its stock to the Crown. The farm became The National Stud under the leadership of Sir Henry Greer. In 1943, the newly formed Irish Government took over the land and buildings at an agreed valuation. At present the Stud farm runs on its own money, 80% of which is earned by the 7 stallions(state owned). Most distinguished of all is the Invincible Spirit (foaled 17 February 1997) is an Irish-bred,British-trained racehorse. The owners of the mare would have to pay 100,000€ to get the mare asweet night with the Invincible. The farm is also a retirement destination for famous winners like hurricane, beef and many more. 46 minutes drive from dublin, this destination also have a Japanese garden, a display of plantlife from the Japanese territory!!! The farm restaurant have incredible view but the food was only ok! Overall a nice destination...

This is truly a breathtaking destination! The Irish National Stud and Gardens isn’t just a tourist attraction – it’s a space where nature, elegance, and spiritual calm blend into a perfect harmony. From the very first step, you can feel a unique energy – gentle, soothing, and deeply inspiring. The Japanese Gardens are absolutely magical – every turn tells a symbolic story of life, transition, and the spiritual journey of a human being. Walking through them feels like a moving meditation. The koi pond, winding paths, arched bridges – everything here speaks peace to the soul. The stud farm section is another gem – majestic, well-cared-for horses radiate strength and grace. It’s a paradise for animal lovers and a living lesson in Irish heritage. This place delights in every way – visually, emotionally, and spiritually. Perfect for a family day out, a romantic stroll, or a solo moment of reflection. If you’re looking for somewhere to soothe your nerves, feed your senses, and surround yourself with natural beauty – the Irish National Stud and Gardens is an absolute must-see. I wholeheartedly recommend this magical place – and I can’t wait...

We booked a group tour of the stud and the racehorse experience and also made a lunch reservation. There was 19 in the group including 2 small children. We were greeted on our arrival and met by Sue our guide and also by the restaurant manager. First we went to the racehorse experience which was very interesting and informative. There was a model of the heart of a racehorse and I was amazed at the size of it. Each of us selected a virtual racehorse and then we raced against each , geat fun. From there Sue took us on our tour of the stud which was excellent. Sue was the perfect guide, she had all the facts and figures about all the horses, and could answer any question. This all took about two hours. Then we went for lunch and there was a great selection available which was perfect. Afterward we visited the Japanese Gardens and took lots more photos. everybody agreed that it was a great day out. My only complaint is that they charge full price for all children over 4 years old, which I am not happy about. I complained about this beforehand but to no avail. Even Dublin Zoo has a reduced rate for...
