We dropped a car at Ballymacaw and walked from the carpark at Dunmore east, took a little over 2 hours to do one way and thats with a good bit of stopping for photos and looking at wildlife, plus a huge rainstorm that caught us unprepared (our fault for not bringing raingear). There is the feeling of space and freedom for the most part but it can get very monotonous at times.

There are no trees at all for some reason even though they would help hold the soil and provide some shelter, you can see scots pines up by the houses where real wealthy people live so why not down at the walk? Some sections were grim, like the parts where you have about 4-6 feet of space with barbed wire and electric fences on either side and then they just end so its not like they were for anything. And im not talking about the occasional piece of fence that stops you walking off a cliff, im all for that.

I really like the benches all over this walk, dedicated to various people. And the views are pretty good, Id like to see more variety on this walk, more space for the walkers and generally more of this kind of this...

Dunmore East was our very first cruise port stop. Originally the idea was to take a bus or taxi to Waterford where the majority of the cruise passengers were heading. My sister and I were quick to decide that Dunmore East was where we wanted to carouse. Right off the dock area was Dunmore East's Coastal Cliff Walk. We probably only did about a quarter of the trail and though I wish we had more time to walk to the end, the amount of the trail we did complete was absolutely breathtaking. I would not have traded the experience we had on this hike. The photos do not do this hike justice. I left part of my heart in the first cove we came across called Portally Cove Beach. We stayed in this cove for quite some time, conversing with some of the locals, looking for sea glass, which we were lucky enough to find and just basking in the pure radiance and beauty of...

We did this walk on Sunday the sign at the car park is a bit confusing, the misses said it was only a handy walk 2h she said so we brought nothing with us, phew how wrong was she 🙄 yes we got to the end in 2h but then ya got to walk back and the little sign at the end had simple information basically it's a moderate walk 15km 6 hours it said well we did it in 4, but was fair tired after we found it a bit tough coming back, I was nearly going to drink out of a stream 😅 walking boots a must in the winter, bring water and a Mars bar you'll need coming back or more it's beautiful we will do it again in the summer and take our time and bring...

This is a must-visit if you enjoy walking. The trail isn’t steep, mostly flat. But runs along the coastal cliffs. You get constant views of the sea, fresh breeze, and plenty of sunlight. You can even get down to the rocks and lie down if you want to relax or sunbathe. Me and my wife spent around 1–2 hours here, and it was really peaceful and refreshing. Only downside: the parking lot isn’t easy to spot from the main road. But once you park, it’s a great experience.
