Food was tasty and well-cooked but was extremely expensive. Went for a Christmas meal with extended family and we were given the al a carte menu. €15 per starter was a bit much at 5pm. Ambience was cosy, nice wood-burning stove pumping out heat. Service was prompt and each course arrived complete. Menu was adequate but far from extensive. For example there is no steak available. However, one of our party was coeliac and gluten free options were available. They are to be complimented for that. Must highlight the crispy calamari which a few of us had. Cooked to perfection and quite memorable. Anyone who had it remarked how fantastic it was. Again, compliments to them on that. Despite the negatives I would return for a meal and would recommend this restaurant.
Update: have returned twice since review above and have no complaints whatsoever about the food. Very consistent especially with the calamari (which is hard to cook at the best of times) so again, I must compliment the restaurant and chefs for that level of consistency. Very nice and airy room upstairs also. Tried their burger recently on a Sunday lunch visit and it was stunning. Not heavy at all, homemade definitely, with beautiful fillings/garnish and a very light brioche bun. Fries on the side...

My wife ordered her usual pizza which has fresh prawns and numerous other goodies but the Pizza of the century was the Brocoletti with garlic and olive oil on the base topped with smoked bacon , chicken and Gorgonzola Cheese on a thin crispy base (my mouth is watering as I write this review ) . To say this was amazing would be an understatement as it was a work of art :-) I’ve eaten Pizzas from stone ovens in the Mountains in Italy but nothing compares to this . Azurro were serving food on a stall at the food festival aswell but this didn’t leave them short on staff or quality of service in the restaurant which as always was top class . They offer a fabulous seafood selection on their menu aswell as some fantastic pastas and daily specials . Their wine menu is to die for aswell . If you are staying anywhere in County Waterford on holiday or fancy a short trip from the City this is a restaurant to add to your bucket list . The restaurant is run by two brothers so you are always guaranteed hands on service . 10/10...
