Ireland's smallest cathedral, being only the size of a normal parish church. It was founded by St. Fachtna in the 6th century, and was originally a monastery, however the current building dates from the 17th century. It is also the only cathedral in Ireland with a ringers gallery, from which one can see the inside of the cathedral. These are mostly seen in Cornish churches. A peal of 6 bells (which I had the pleasure of ringing) are housed in the tiny tower, and are normally rang on Thursday evenings, as well as for Sunday services.
The cathedral is open daily, and an extensive history book can be bought inside for €10.
