Nice place with a lot of things to see and do. But the instructors at the atomic reactor and planetarium where horrible: Never did I witness instructors with such a low knowledge, low drive and even language problems. Their explanations were below general knowledge, completly simplistic and boring. A place like this - that wants to kindle the interest of kids in science - cannot employ such completly uninspiring and unlearned instructors. In general most rooms and attractions were usually not easy and simple to understand and were lacking explanations or staff that helps and explains. Many things we did not do - that looked quite interesting - since we did not know how to operate them or switch them on. Last issue about the main entrance: Instead of giving the beautiful historic building an honorable entrance from its frontal facade dtraight to the street and to the bus station accessible at sidewalk level, there are high ugly fences and pedestrians need to circumvent the whole compound by a long trail to an ugly side entrance through a parking lot and staircases. Completely unneccessary, damaging, not respecting people (especially pedestrians) and worsen...

At the end of WW1 and the occupation of Beersheba by the British Mandate forces in Israel, the building was used as a school for Bedouin children, and it served its purpose for about 30 years. From 1949 until 1979, it was used as “Bait Hachayal” (Hebrew for Soldiers Hostel). Later on it was deserted until the establishment of Carasso Science Park. One more historical fact: It was here that the Armistice agreement between Israel and Egypt were signed at the end of the Israeli...
