Zafririm Winery — Attraction in Mate Yehuda Regional Council

I visited this winery yesterday and had a decent experience overall, but nothing particularly memorable. The setting is pleasant, and the atmosphere is nice if you’re looking for a relaxed afternoon. That said, the wine tasting itself felt pretty average. The flavors were okay, but nothing stood out as exceptional or worth coming back specifically for.

What left more of an impression was the pricing — and not in a good way. For the amount of wine poured in the tasting, I expected either more generous servings or a slightly lower price. It felt overpriced for what was offered.

The cheese platter, while nicely presented, was also on the smaller side compared to what you pay. It’s not that the quality was bad — the cheeses were fine — but again, it didn’t feel like good value.

Service was polite, and the staff seemed knowledgeable, but overall I left feeling like the experience didn’t quite justify the cost. I’ve been to other wineries where you get more for your money, both in taste and portions.

אשתי ואני ביקרנו במקום ביום ששי האחרון. התקבלנו במאור פנים על ידי לורי ושייקה והחכמנו בעניין ההיסטוריה של המושב והארכיאולוגיה הסביבתית. הסתבר לנו ששייקה ולורי היו ארכיאולוגים בעבר. אה כן, שמענו גם הסברים אודות היינות שהם מייצרים, טעמנו מהם, והם היו לטעמינו לא פחות מהזוג הנחמד. לשמחתנו התקלקלה מכונת החיוב הכספי שהם התקינו במקום ביום שקדם לביקורנו והליך הבירורים והשבתה לפעולה ארכו כשעה ומכיוון שכל אחד מבני הזוג עסק בתיקון בנפרד, בן הזוג השני הנעים את זמננו בסיפורים מרתקים נוספים אודות המקום. בקיצור, חוויה מרעננת. אין ספק שנשוב לשם לצורך חידוש המלאי ובעיקר לשמוע סיפורים...
