Mezzavalle Beach — Attraction in Ancona

The beach is almost 200 m distant from the the main road. The path leading to the beachfront is a steep mud road snaking down from the main road on the foothill.

The beach is not accessible by vehicle, it is also strictly prohibited. It can be accessed via two other routes. There is a zig-zagging hiking track at a mile distance from the official Mezzavalle pathway towards the direction opposite to the Portonuovo. The other route is by walk from Portonuovo. The beach site is worth visiting in any period of the year, as it is a perfect place for sightseeing, the view of Conero and the sea especially in hour of sunrise and sundown is mesmerizing.

The water during most of the summertime is crystal clear, the slop along the coastline allows a perfect visibility of the surroundings, of the Conero mountain and the Portonuvo are visible.

it is our favorite beach - wild - long and no umbrella renting. the way down and up is challenging - the less you carry - the better it is - good shoes are recommended although there are people with flip flops very disappointing the restaurant - not for the food which is acceptable- but for all the plastics they started to use - awful! a year ago they still served in ceramic plates - now just one way plastic - a big step backwards what a pity and what a shame. La mia seconda visita al Conero (la prima a Numana, ieri a questa spiaggia) si é rivelata nel complesso deludente quanto la prima di anni fa. Penso passeranno altri anni prima di tornarci. É un bel posto, suggestivo, una infinita baia con ad un lato uno stabilimento balneare ma tantissima spiaggia libera, il bar gestito sulla spiaggia ha personale gentile e buon cibo, c'è doccia libera e servizi, il parcheggio a pagamento ha un costo del tutto ragionevole. Ma bisogna fare una discesa a piedi a volte parecchio ripida dove se anche si hanno le scarpe ma una suola troppo liscia si passa il tempo ad agrapparsi spasmodicamente al guardamano in legno grezzo con chiodi sporgenti, arrivando alla fine pensando al ritorno, dove si arriva in cima con le goccie di sudore che cadono negli occhi sotto sole spietato. Ho visto due persone sducciolare a terra, cosi come é successo a me. Ho visto coraggiosi salire tenendo l'ombrellone per farsi ombra (non so se siano riusciti per tutto il percorso). Bene non é la fine del mondo, ma si viene premiati dello sforzo da un'acqua bella, ma in fondo non diversa da altri bei posti nelle Marche molto piu facilmente raggiungibili. Aggiungiamo dopo poco siamo stati accolti da enormi striscie di mucillagine marroncina che si sono accumulate in zona bagnasciuga, mucillagine che abbiamo provato ad evitare facendo una camminata di mezzora fino dall'altro lato della baia, arrivati esausti ed accaldati in splendida solitudine, ma trovandola sempre presente. Mucillagine viscida come una crema e talmente resistente da non andare del tutto via nemmeno sotto la doccia con sapone e raspando con la spugna lato ondulato.
