Only 5 stars which may not be entirely fair. It was super cool but we didn’t know what to expect so the experience was less than it could have been. This is not a luxury spa. It is rustic. People in the know knew to bring their own towels for example. This is place you go to chill out. Get your body painted in mud by a guy, then pop in and out of a steaming hot, in caves carved into the mountain, sauna and Turkish baths. In between you hang out with others under sun shade tarps in simple aluminum sling chairs. We all got massages but didn’t realize their was only one masseuse so they were spaced out over the entire afternoon. Our place was only 300 yards away so my wife went back to the house for a bit. The massages were good, though more clinical than “spa like”. Door keep half way open, no dim lights or chill music, you lay on top of a paper sheet on a towel, bathing suit on…evidently the ladies are asked to pull down the tops of their suits and no towel cover up…a little unorthodox in the states, but we Americans may be prudes. Overall, if you are looking for a super authentic, Terme experience, steps from Maronti Beach, this is it. And really reasonable cost wise - EU100 for full body treatment including mud, mineral baths, Turkish sauna and a 60 minute massage (massage was EU45 and all day full body treatment was EU55 I think). Plus incredible fresh squeezed lemonade and...
Read moreNothing here. You pay 15€ and what you get is: a sauna, a very thin stream of natural shower and the option to take a bath with hot thermal water in a small cabin. Everything else is an extra. And you need to bring your own towels.
So basically we just paid 15€ to have a bath. No pool, no "natural spring". Every hotel in ischia has a thermal pool and hence it's not worth a visit. They don't accept card payment. The ambience is far from nice- feels a bit like a madhouse with these faces popping out of the bath cells.
In normal places u pay 20 something euros for various pools and rooms. Here every single addition is for an extra charge.
If you've ever been to public Dead Sea beach, you could also skip the 27€ mud musk.
Spending your morning and your money on a bath of hot water? Better go to maronti beach.

Read moreIf you want an authentic thermal experience on Ischia, this is the place. From Sant’ Angelo we took the water taxi to the Cava Scura stop and then had a short walk (very well marked). There is a slight hill to walk to once you get close, but most everyone can make it taking their time. For 38 euro (per person) we got unlimited sauna and thermal cold shower (they recommend you go back and forth between those two 5 times), full body mud treatment, & 20 minutes in the thermal bath. You also get lounge chairs & there is towel rental for 2 euro if you need it. They sell water and juice too. The staff was very friendly and walked us through the process. Spoke enough English to help us out. I thought it was well worth the price to experience this place that has been used in some form since the Middle Ages. Our skin was glowing...
