Weingut Messnerhof — Attraction in Bolzano - Bozen

We did a road trip from Garmisch down to Bozen due to rain all day. Looked up local Wineries in that area and liked the reviews for Messnerhof Winery, so we picked that location to explore. Upon arrival we called the number and Bernhard answered the phone. We told him we were at the gate and he stated he would be there in about 5 mins. He was out in the vineyards harvesting. We did the wine tasting and all the wines were outstanding. We purchased several bottles to take back with us to the U.S. Wished we could of taken back several cases of his wines. Messnerhof is an amazing winery with top notch hospitality. We contacted Bernard asking for a day of tour and he made time for us later that night! We walked from downtown Bolzano with ease. Bernard led us through his wineries history, through the agriculture and chemistry of his wine, his production process, and finally the tasting. What more could you want from a winery visit? The owner is so warm and generous with his time. He gave us a great tour of the farm, explaining the operations, and happily answering our many questions. The wine tasting room is beautiful, with a fireplace in winter, and lovely views of the valley. The wine itself is great quality, affordable, and we left with a few bottles. Thank you...
