A Unique Wine Experience at Sorrentino
Sorrentino winery is an exceptional winery located at the foothills of Mount Vesuvius, offering a truly unique wine experience. From the moment I stepped foot on the premises, I was captivated by the charm and character that the vineyard exudes.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the vineyard tour. The knowledgeable staff provided a well-executed tour, sharing fascinating insights into the cultivation and production processes. Exploring the vineyard was a delight, as I witnessed firsthand the care and dedication put into growing the grapes that make their wines so exceptional.
The service at Sorrentino was exemplary. The staff was attentive, ensuring a complete and swift experience. I was particularly impressed by the efficiency of the service, which allowed me to fully enjoy the tour without feeling rushed.
While the restaurant menu could benefit from some improvements, I must commend the outstanding antipasto selection. It was a delightful combination of flavors that left a lasting impression. The starters truly showcased the high-quality ingredients and attention to detail.
The wines I had the pleasure of sampling were nothing short of outstanding. I paired a sparkling wine with a mixed platter of cured meats and cheeses, and the combination was divine. The crisp and refreshing white wine perfectly complemented the fiery pasta all'arrabbiata, enhancing the overall dining experience. The two red wines I tried were exceptional, especially when enjoyed alongside the flavorsome trio of meats in the main course. Although the cheesecake for dessert didn't quite meet my expectations, the staff kindly rectified the situation by offering a slice of their delectable pastiera.
Sorrentino winery is a haven for wine lovers seeking an authentic and memorable experience. With its unique location near Mount Vesuvius and the passion invested in every aspect of their winemaking, it's no wonder their wines stand out. The impeccable service, well-executed vineyard tour, and the overall ambiance make it a destination worth visiting. I highly recommend Sorrentino winery for wine enthusiasts and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of this...
Read moreMy husband booked this stay because of the proximity to Mt. Vesuvius. Our plan was to hike the mountain and see Pompeii. The weather did not cooperate, but it absolutely did not matter because our unexpected & delightful experience with this Inn, the restaurant, the wine, the walks through the vineyard and the PEOPLE made this an unforgettable memory!! We traveled by train to Naples and took a taxi to get there. Our driver couldn't find the address and dropped us off at the base of an extremely steep driveway where some shuttle buses were parked. We even called the Inn manager, Raphael, so the driver could get directions, but he just kicked us out of the car and said it was somewhere close by. It felt like we had made a huge mistake. As we dragged our suitcases up the mountainside, past a small group of people walking down, they encouraged us to continue because the people at the top would undoubtedly help us. The stretch of mountain driveway opened up to a dream world you can't even imagine. The lovely restaurant perched among the sprawling vineyard and our hearts went from sinking to soaring. A gentleman who undoubtedly heard our rolling suitcases over the rocks through the open windows of the restaurant yelled curiously.. Hellooooo! Can I help you? And before we could even get the words out to explain why we were dragging suitcases across his dreamy patio walkway, he insisted we come around and come in and eat. He told us to please relax, recover, and enjoy the beginning of our stay because they would take care of us - the winery, the restaurant and the inn were all family and they would see to it that we made it to the inn. But first, EAT! Our new friend, Umberto, treated us to a five star experience right there on the spot! Wine tastings and several courses (4 I think?) of food. I'm certain he lemon cake is going to be something I can only dream about until we can return one day. After we finished our 5 star experience, Raphael (the Inn manager) came to pick us up and personally bring us to the Inn. Thank you to these wonderful people! You turned lemons into Limoncello and my husband and I will never...

We visited this winery to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had several special wishes to make my dad's day special, which the winery accommodated without any problem and even fully exceeded our expectations. We chose the package WINE TREKKING with a tour through the vineyards to start with - Umberto, who was our guide and sommelier for the day, has provided us with outstanding knowledge about both the vineyard and the wine itself, explained us all the specifications patiently and shared amazing stories with us along the way.
After the tour, we enjoyed delicious lunch and really special tasting. We usually are not particularly big fans of bubbles, but Umberto insisted we trust him - we were happy we did, because for the first time in a long time, we truly loved it and were amazed by the full-body, soft and smooth harmony of their DoRe. All the wines, we tasted in the winery were full-body tasteful wines, with amazing aroma and lasting fresh taste - from whites, our favorite was Latikadea and our all-times favorite was their red wine, Frupa.
Of all wine tastings we took in the previous years during our trips in Italy or abroad, this one was our favorite! Both, white and red wines, all with particular taste and aroma, make you feel the love of people caring for it.
We definitely recommend visiting this winery during your trip, because if you look for a very special and local experience, this is the place to go. Big thanks also belongs to Umberto, who has been really amazing in making our visit special...
