Despite insignificant elevation of ca 700 meters St Hyppolites' Kirche is the dominant element of terrain in Meran-Bozen valley (the fact clear even for IV millenia BC Stone Age ppl who chose it for archeologically proven settlement!).
Starting from the South direction clockwise the place provides clear naked eye view of: Sigmundskrone castle, Gantkofel mountain (with its remarkable peak shape), Zwindenburg castle, Leonburg castle, Eschenloher castle, Tirol and Brunnenburg castles, city of Meran, Katzenstein castle, Aschlbach waterfall, Kroell tower, Neuhaus Maultasch castle ruins and the city of Bozen!
Plenty of bazalt rock formation scattered around the church provide enough privacy even to the large number of visitors making it ideal viewing platform in the area.
