Ruins of Moneta Castle — Attraction in Carrara

Beautiful view of the valley of Carrara, all the way to the sea. On the other side you have a magnificent view of the Apuan Alps. Unfortunately all the ruins are fenced and cannot be really explored (it's marked as "private property"). Il castello di Moneta in realtà non è completo, ciò che rimane sono solamente ruderi. Incantevole è il luogo, molto tranquillo e rilassante con un panorama eccezionale che spazia sul territorio di Carrara fino al mare. Si può raggiungere con un sentiero segnalato che parte dal paese di Fossola della durata di circa 45 minuti e si arrampica con buona pendenza per un tratto asfaltato con abitazioni poi nel secondo tratto bisogna proseguire a piedi per forza poiché il sentiero è stretto e sterrato. Un altro modo per raggiungere le rovine è passare sempre dal paese di Fossola ma prendendo la strada che prosegue fino ad arrivare a Santa Lucia e anche qui c'è un'indicazione sulla strada e non si può sbagliare.
