Cantine Palmento Costanzo - Vini Etna Doc — Attraction in Castiglione di Sicilia

Best experience at a winery ever. Lived outside of Napa Valley, went to wineries in Spain, France, and Italy, and this was my favorite experience by far.

We walk in, or should I say, wandered in off the road with no reservation for tasting. They had a small private party in the back with beautiful live jazz music playing. They went out of their way to make accommodations for us a tasting.

This trip to Sicily for me was more than just another vacation. My mother's side of my family was from Sicily, and my mother had passed away prior to our trip. She always wanted to go. I can just feel her with us at this Winery. A gentleman came up to us that I would assume was the owner and just shared his heart about his love for the vine and the vineyard. There was a wonderful, warm connection.

The staff shared the wines, bringing us bread and olive oil, then a little later some cheese and salami. It was an amazing experience, and the wine was delicious.

It was a beautiful area. The winery was like nothing I've ever seen, and we went on a spontaneous tour. The history of the winery, how they loved on each of the grapes as individual plants versus growing them all together was very interesting and made such sense.

Le tradizioni Siciliane sono tante, sono antiche , ed è sempre meraviglioso fare viaggi per cercarle . Oggi è toccato scoprire una delle più belle realtà nel grande mondo del vino nella zona dell’Etna . Giunto quasi per caso e subito rapito dalla bellezza dell’impianto e delle strutture del palmento della famiglia Costanzo. La struttura restaurata con grande cura rispettando le antiche mura e rivitalizzandole con un intervento interno stupendo. Quindi accettati da chi ci ha fatto da padrone di casa, Cosimo , è iniziata il percorso attraverso la scoperta delle tradizioni vitivinicole dell’azienda. Attraverso i filati di vite abbiamo conosciuto i centenari “alberelli” della tradizione dell’Etna , l’attenta e scrupolosa descrizione di Cosimo ci ha accompagnato attraverso i terrazzamenti a vedere le piante centenarie ancora presenti e quindi riportati nell’antico palmento, dotato dei più moderni impianti rispettosi delle antiche procedure vinificatori vedere come l’azienda produce questo nettare degli dei . le botti che curano e preparino il nerello mascalese quindi le botti dei bianchi tutti vinificatoi nel rispetto delle ANTICHE tradizioni . La degustazione sapientemente curata da un personale competente e gentile in un ambiente moderno e favoloso ci ha permesso di gustare attraverso uno dei 5 percorsi di degustazione proposti la bontà dei vini della famiglia Costanzo. Ovviamente non si va via vuoto e si può comprare nello shopping ciò che hai bevuto per portare indietro oltre il ricordo di una splendida giornata il gusto da ripetere con gli amici. We had the pleasure of visiting a beautiful winery at the foot of Mount Etna, where we took part in a wonderful wine tasting experience. Our guide was incredibly informative and presented the entire winery with great finesse. After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious five-course wine tasting lunch.
