Antiquarium di Eraclea Minoa — Attraction in Cattolica Eraclea

Very interesting place. Full of potential. The antiquarium is very well kept with interesting explanations and objects. The site itself is on top of a hill with an amazing view. The houses excavated are properly protected and accessible. The amfitheater is an incredible part of the site, unfortunately the metal scaffolding is placed in such a way that makes it impossible to appreciate the amphitheater itself. Do not believe some photographs you see of this place. The amphitheatre is hidden behind an old protective screen. The site may not be open on the day or time you turn up, and the signs may be cordoned-off, so even if you can translate from Italian, you may not be able to read the text. It all looks shabby.

L'antiquarium contiene dei pezzi davvero interessanti, e i pannelli all'interno della stanza contenente il museo sono molto chiari e ben fatti. L'esterno, purtroppo, è un po' abbandonato a sé stesso, non vi sono quasi spiegazioni e non è chiaro dove inizino e dove finiscano i reperti storici. Inoltre, mi chiedo perché l'antico teatro sia stato coperto da quella orribile tettoia: l'atmosfera è completamente rovinata ed è molto difficile riuscire ad ammirarne...
