I try not to write a harsh review if it is not necessary, but this case requires it. We booked a classic canyoning route - a family of 5, who are used to traveling and also canyoning - including in Italy. It was a shocking experience - starting with a guide who changed clothes with an open door and my teenage daughter saw him completely naked; the fact that they did not provide suitable shoes, which caused a safety risk; disgusting attitude of the guides who tried to convince my wife to leave the route after 100 meters because she was too slow for their taste; a boring and short route; complete disregard for our requests for a refund (in writing) - after two of the participates left the route at the very beginning.

This year we took a canyoning trip in Montenegro and it was a completely different experience that illustrated the unprofessional and truly disgusting behavior of this company. After I returned from the route in Montengro, I realized that I had to write these things - if not for me, then for companies that do it properly and for others who should be careful not to fall...

Amazing time rafting with Gabriel and Ursus Adventures in Ossana, Italy! We stopped here “on our way” from Venice to Füssen to break up the trip and do something fun/adventurous and this really checked that box!

There was a section where kids 13 and younger were supposed to get out because it was more dangerous/challenging. Thankfully, they did not make either of the two 13 year olds in our raft get out because that section was not at all a problem. In fact, we all thought there was no reason for kids to have gotten out there at all, but maybe on some days it is worse. We were worried it might be rainy and/or cold, and there were certainly clouds and the water was quite “refreshing”, but the wet suit kept us warm enough. I had rafted previously in Taos, New Mexico wearing my Chaco sandals, but Ursus did not allow me to wear them, saying they had to be closed toe shoes. They had water shoes for rent for 5 Euro, so it was not a problem. I would recommend bringing a towel and dry clothes to change...

We had a wonderful adventure through the canyons at lake St. Guistina. At first our booked time wasn't available due to lack of further guests but the team found another possibility for us. The guide was a funny guy and explained all about the lake, the canyons and the tour. Equipment was handed out and off we went, pulled by a motor boat over the lake to the entrance of the caves. It really was fantastic and awesome to look at. If we had had more time, we also would have tried the rafting tour.

Great people, very professional and polite, the ride was very pleasant. We went with the guide named Thomas, very nice guy and very experienced, we had small children with us (9, 6) and our guide was very attentive to them and we felt very safe. The family ride is perfect for beginners or families with children. It has enough thrill but not to the point that you are holding on for your life. I highly recommend doing this activity and using Ursus. We will definitely do it again.
