Il territorio dellAlto Garda Bresciano è un insieme straordinario di paesaggi di notevole bellezza e varietà: gli habitat variano da quello sub-mediterraneo a quello alpino e la vegetazione esprime una ricchezza unica. Il paesaggio è stato plasmato anche dall'uomo, con la creazione di suggestivi borghi antichi e colture di valore storico /ambientale come le antiche limonaie di Gargnano che hanno ancora anche siti attivi di proprietà privata e museali curati con passione (limonaia del Pra' della Fam nel comune di Tignale) . Con una passeggiata nel territorio di Gargnano è possibile toccare con mano l'estensione e la quantità degli impianti per la coltivazione dei limoni. Quelli ancora integri sono coltivati mantenendo vive le antiche tecniche e le varietà botaniche locali. Crinali e versanti dalle millenarie frequentazioni, evidenziano la meraviglia di un paesaggio culturale che lascia senza fiato e mostra panorami sempre diversi ad ogni angolo. È un meandro tutto da scoprire : cascate, forre nascoste, vegetazione intensa e rocce a picco sul lago, carreggiate antiche scavate nella roccia, strade eroiche che segnano profondamente il paesaggio. È un insieme unico che va conservato e protetto grazie all'istituzione del Parco Alto Garda Bresciano dal 1989 e si estende lungo la Riviera dei Limoni che coincide col territorio lombardo da Salò e confina con il lago di Ledro e con la Valle Sabbia. Il punto più alto è il Monte Caplone (m1976). Caratteristiche sono i fienili di Cima Rest nel comune di Magasa in Valvestino, con i tetti di paglia di probabile derivazione longobarda. Notevoli sono i particolari endemismi d'altura, dovuti all'isolamento delle cime durante la glaciazione. Fra i tanti spicca la Saxifraga tombeanensis ( prende il nome dal bel monte Tombea) una rarità sorprendente e sempre in loco ancora numerosi, visibili siti che testimoniano le postazioni della Grande Guerra. Da non dimenticare sono le notevoli produzioni casearie e zootecniche del territorio, eccellenze che si possono trovare presso il caseificio l'Alpe del Garda a Tremosine e la Latteria Turnaria a Tignale. Prevale il biologico soprattutto nel territorio di Tignale e la passione per i formaggi anche caprini (straordinari) di nicchia nonché i pregiati tartufi ( sagra del tartufo in ottobre). Le eccellenze sono tante e dimostrano la passione per la qualità. Grande sito è anche la Malga Alvezza per la produzione dell'eccezionale formaggio (presidio slow food) Tombea in Valvestino a Cima Rest.(la malga chiude i primi giorni...

We wanted to come here to have a nice hike with our dogs, the ratings and pictures showed very nice hiking trails but the only thing we were able to find was a parking lot where we were allowed to park for an hour. I don't know where that park should be nor the hiking trails, we wandered around town n there was no sign or anything. Is this town called a park?? The town is situated between the lake and mountains on which every little trail (of which there were only few) were privat and not allowed for public hiking. The town is nice, but nothing special compared to the other villages n towns around. All in all this was very very disappointing and a wasted day cause we were expecting a park and hiking trails and not a walk...
