This place is perfect to spend your whole day at. You arrive by boat that brings people to and from Cala Luna every hour. There will be a lot of people on the sand between the cliffs, that is why I recommend going into the actual cave where there is also sand and natural shade. It was very difficult to walk on the stones before the water because they were sharp and very hot, this is why I would recommend to bring snorkelling shoes. The colour of the water is absolutely beautiful turquoise, meanwhile it is clean and transparent. There is also a cafe and a restaurant on the beach and if you intend to visit the place, bring a lot of small change and cash because the food there is quite expensive due to transportation issues. Next to the beach there is a beautiful cave that you can access by swimming about 50 meters. The stones inside the cave are purple and breathtaking. You should bring snorkelling equipment because there is a big variety of fish on the way to the cave, but do watch for sea urchin because they are basically everywhere. You can come back to the city by boat or by doing a...
Read moreCala Luna is undoubtedly a unique and beautiful destination, accessible primarily by boat, which adds to its charm. The scenic views from the sea, with striking grottos and caves, are truly breathtaking and make for some fantastic photo opportunities. The natural beauty of this spot is hard to deny.
However, there are some significant downsides, especially during the high season. The area becomes incredibly overcrowded, which can take away from the peaceful experience many might be seeking. Unfortunately, the grottos, while stunning to look at, are often used as makeshift toilets, leading to a terrible smell that lingers in the air. This is a major drawback for anyone looking to fully enjoy the natural surroundings.
As for the beach itself, it didn't hold much appeal for me beyond being a picturesque spot for photos. If you're looking for a place to relax and swim, you might be disappointed.
Overall, Cala Luna is worth visiting for its unique landscape and photo opportunities, but be prepared for the downsides, especially if you're visiting during...
Read moreIf you’d like to appreciate this beach in privacy and peace you get to do that only in the morning until the crowd doesn’t ruin it. My boyfriend and I went to hike to it (it will take you cca 2 hours- we started at 5:30 and came there 7:30h) and scene from the video is the situation at that time. The photo next to it is at around 13h and it gets even more crowded with every hour. As it’s extremely hot and not an easy trail, I wouldn’t recommend to hike the way back from the beach. There are boats that are driving every half an hour for 20€ per person, but the bad thing is that the first one goes at 15:30. So if you come early in the morning and wish to go home with boat around noon or earlier, that’s unfortunately not an option. Also, as there’s too many people, boats get booked very quickly and if you don’t fit into first one, you gotta wait good 30-40 mins on the sun for the other one. So please take A LOT of cold water, some hats and if possible parasol for your time here. This beach is beautiful but it doesn’t really...
