Beautiful room and lovely scenery but the service is terrible. We planned to arrive at the castle at about 3pm but the unfortunate happened. Our car got broken into and they broke our window glass. We had to spend practically the whole day going to police stations to try and file a report. Arriving at the castle at about 8.40pm to be greeted by a very rude and pushy receptionist. She keeps telling me she tried to call us all day but we didn't even receive a call! Obviously we didn't receive any email either as we were busy dealing with the car. It started raining like crazy and I asked for a space for the car to be undercover because of the shattered window. She didn't seem to care but to try and push us to buy breakfast and dinner! Keep trying to up sale! Saying how crazy I am that nothing is open at this hour (8.45pm) and that this is Italy everything is closed! At this point I was in Italy for a week already and I have been to many restaurants at that hour. Anyway we were forced to buy dinner there which was terrible. Four tiny bowls of pasta with no meat. Thank goodness for all one bar 5 mins away. We bought a whole bunch of food since we were still hungry after the pasta. So do not listen to the receptionist there is a place for take away. The castle is occupied by the owner so you are not allowed to go in.
Tried to reply but couldn't so I'll edited it here!
Dear whoever,
You simply were not there so how did you know what your staff was like? I do know what she said and am in no way disillusioned my whole family heard what she said. Anyway I do not need to justify myself I simply wrote a review about my experience. You may take it as a constructive criticism or an offence it's up to you. But you cannot defend what happens if you...
Read moreWe spent last Halloween weekend in this medieval borough. It has been a very relaxing experience. If you are looking for a quiet place, with almost anything but nature all around you, well: you just found the right place for you! Lorenzo, Giorgia, Andrea , Nadia and all the Staff will treat you with a yesteryears courtesy. You'll immediately feel at home. Ok: there isn't a Spa or a pool but the accomodation is really nice: our room was wide, comfortable and clean. We really appreciated the two fireplaces (one each room) and the baskets of dry wood that Lorenzo prepared for us everyday: it has turned a rainy weekend in a shiny one! You may have a nice continental breakfast with fresh products and, obviously, lunch and/or dinner at the "I tre orologi" restaurant: the kitchen is managed by two young chefs they are proposing traditional dishes with a modern twist. We liked it. You also may found some wines produced with the grapes growing all around the castle: they do not reach yet the quality of their older brothers, the Barolo or Barbaresco produced not too far in the Langa, but they surely worth the money they ask for. If you are a countryside lover you may enjoy a walk among the oaks, the elms and the Linden trees, looking for the valuable Alba's White truffle with the help of Angelo and his trustworthy and tireless Lagotto romagnolo Attila: maybe not this year, which has been awful for the truffle, but who knows? As they say "luck is blind"! Finally: do you want to find your own rithm once again and recharge your batteries? Think about a...
