Situated amidst the Tuscan hills with their characteristic cypress trees and vineyard fields, Castello di Brolio provides a visual treat to its visitors. The castle's architecture is commendable, and walking along the castle wall presents a unique perspective.

On the day of our visit, entrance was free, limiting our interaction with the staff. However, we did note that they were courteous and professional. Standard entrance fees are 6.50€ for non-guided entrance and 10€ for a guided tour, which includes an exhibition in one of the towers. While the non-guided entrance fee may seem somewhat high, the panoramic views offered by the castle could potentially justify this cost.

Parking at Castello di Brolio is ample, reducing the hassle for visitors. There is an on-site restaurant, serving wine from the castle's own vineyard. However, we were unable to try the food as it was closing time when we arrived.

In terms of cleanliness, the place was well-kept, including the restrooms available at the entrance.

As for the castle's history, it's worth mentioning that it has been in the Ricasoli family since 1141. The castle's vineyard produces the Chianti Classico wine, adding a historic and cultural significance to the location.

Castello di Brolio offers a worthwhile visit for those in the region, thanks to its historic appeal, architectural beauty, and stunning natural surroundings. Based on my experience, I would consider returning during a future trip to the...

Our visit to Castello di Brolio was an enchanting and delightful experience! This historic castle, set amidst the stunning Tuscan countryside, is like stepping into a fairy tale. The views are breathtaking, with rolling vineyards and picturesque landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see.

Exploring the castle on our own was fascinating, especially knowing that it is still a private residence. The rich history and beautiful architecture captivated us at every turn, and the sense of continuity and living history added a unique charm to our visit.

One of the highlights was the wine tasting. The wines from the castle’s vineyards are exquisite, and sampling them in such a beautiful setting was a real treat. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable.

The gardens and grounds are perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering plenty of photo opportunities and spots to relax and take in the serene surroundings. We also loved the small chapel, which was incredible and added a profound sense of history and spirituality to our visit.

Castello di Brolio is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Tuscany. It’s fun, educational, and incredibly picturesque. Whether you’re a history buff, a wine lover, or just someone looking to enjoy a beautiful day out, this castle has something for everyone. Highly...

An absolute MUST-do if you’re in the area! My husband and I were in Chianti for our honeymoon and this was the highlight of our time in Italy. The castle and the grounds are stunningly beautiful, the museum and grounds tour is comprehensive and interesting (we had a great guide - unfortunately I can’t remember her name), and it felt like we were IN history. Not to mention the way they set it up so the tour concludes at the top of the castle with panoramic views of Tuscany and Siena that were so beautiful it seemed fake. The sit-down tasting was like nothing we’d ever experienced. They sat us at a long, formal dining table with place settings set up for us and the others in our group. The tour felt comfortable and enjoyable - unlike several others we visited in the area that felt rushed. We did the tasting lunch after the tour and that was, simply put, out of this world. We’d never done a chef’s wine pairing before and it changed our view of how wine complements food and makes the meal that much better. The food was phenomenal and service impeccable. We told them it was our honeymoon and they gave us extra dessert in congratulations. The lunch restaurant is in the middle of the woods in nature and felt so authentic. This was our first excursion in Italy and the experience set the bar SO high for our visit - and...

We took the castle tour in the morning, which was full of fascinating historical insights. The visit was engaging and enjoyable. From one section of the walls, we could admire the best view we saw during our entire trip to Tuscany, perfect for taking photos and enjoying the stunning scenery. The tour continued with a visit to the winery, where we learned about the wine-making process. We were lucky to see the vineyards full of grapes, as it was harvest season (late September). We even watched the grapes being loaded onto tractors and taken to the winery. It was a truly beautiful and enriching experience, ending with a delicious wine tasting. Highly recommended!

My wife and I loved our Gran Cru wine tour with Matteo that included the history of the Ricasoli estate from the castle, the museum only available to the tours and numerous vineyards. After the history tour we were then guided through the wine making process and were lucky enough to see one of the first picks of the season before trying some of their best selections of wine during our wine tasting. If that wasn’t enough we then had a wine pairing lunch at the beautiful Osteria di Brolio that was exceptional. It was more than worth the price especially to have Matteo guide us in English and show us his passion for Tuscany and region he grew up in.
