Dreadful Experience - Stay Away! My recent stay at Castello di Meleto in Gaiole in Chianti Tuscany was an absolute nightmare, and I strongly advise against choosing this establishment. The lack of service, the presence of black mold in the rooms, and the abysmal quality of the food made for an utterly disappointing experience.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear that customer service was not a priority at Castello di Meleto. The staff displayed a complete lack of interest and were unhelpful throughout my stay. Basic requests went unanswered, and the overall level of service was shockingly poor.

Adding to the dismal experience, the rooms were in deplorable condition, with black mold infesting the walls. This not only posed a health risk but also revealed a lack of maintenance and cleanliness standards. It is unacceptable to subject guests to such hazardous conditions.

To make matters worse, the food at Castello di Meleto was tasteless and inedible. The dishes lacked any semblance of quality or care, leaving me unsatisfied and regretful. I expected to savor authentic Tuscan cuisine, but instead, I was served subpar, poorly prepared meals.

Furthermore, we decided to cut our stay short and had our travel agent reach out to the management a week ago. Shockingly, we have yet to receive any response or acknowledgment of our concerns. This complete disregard for guest satisfaction and lack of communication are simply unacceptable.

In conclusion, my stay at Castello di Meleto was an extremely disappointing experience. The lack of service, the presence of black mold, the terrible food, and the management's failure to address our concerns demonstrate a severe lack of professionalism and hospitality. Spare yourself the frustration and potential health risks by seeking alternative accommodations in Gaiole in Chianti Tuscany. Castello di Meleto should be avoided at all costs.

Our visit to Meleto Castle in Tuscany was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish! The castle itself is incredibly picturesque, nestled beautifully in the heart of the Chianti countryside, offering breathtaking views that truly embody the Tuscan dream. We opted for the wine tasting and tour, and it exceeded all expectations. Our guide, Gabriel, was simply fantastic! He struck the perfect balance between being incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic, making the history of the castle and the winemaking process truly come alive. His witty remarks and engaging storytelling kept us captivated and laughing throughout the tour – it's rare to find a guide who is both so interested in the subject matter and so genuinely funny! And the wines – oh, the wines! They were, without exception, excellent. Each sip was a testament to the quality and passion that goes into every bottle at Meleto. From the moment we tasted the first one, we knew we were in for a treat. The range and complexity of the wines were truly impressive, and we left with a deeper appreciation for Chianti Classico. The entire experience at Meleto Castle felt authentic, welcoming, and thoroughly enjoyable. We can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a memorable blend of history, stunning scenery, fantastic wine, and genuinely engaging company. A huge thank you to Gabriel and the team at Meleto Castle for a truly...

We tour Italy for three weeks and visited Tuscany for 5days and this castle stay turns out to be the most terrible and horrible place to lodge in on 18 nov .The thought of a fairytale stay for my family of three turns out to be a nightmare.Firstly, we were not being briefed about the hot water supply for 2 baths till we contacted you on an emergency basis. We were told to wait for an hour later for the hot water supply ,however, we waited for more than an hour but to no avail. We were left with no choice but freeze to take a cold bath. This was our 1st disappointing experience. To add on, we woke up to our horrible shock to learn that there was not water supply to brush our teeth and wash our face! This was our 2nd bad experience. We later had to eat our breakfast in the dark held by a few pathetic candles and with no hot water and coffee supply. We were appalled that the castle does not have a standby generator to power up the place. ||||They agreed to compensate us in full refund of the accommodation charge for the horrible, unforgiving experiences. We have not heard from you till now as they greed to write to us on the refund procedure.A few email reminder is totally ignored. They never honor what they had promised. The agony Continued after we left.||Don’t stay here!!!!!||||With Displeasure...

A beautiful place, however the bed was so bad that out of the two nights we had booked we decided to leave after the first night because it was so bad! Also the mosquitoes in the room very very annoying. The bed is big and has two spring mattresses in it, you can feel each and every spring through the mattress, also the gap between the mattresses in the bed is very annoying! Why people have separate mattresses in a single bed in a hotel I will never understand. Upon checking out earlier the hotel staff didn't even bother to ask why we were leaving early, which to me shows utter lack of interest in their job or customers. Like I said in the beginning, a beautiful place well worth the visit, the castle is amazingly well kept (in keeping with its history and items). Unfortunately we were too tired to experience the place properly (due to lack of sleep because of the bad bed and constant harassment of mosquitoes)... we were looking forward to the wine tasting and dinner at the castle restaurant (which is down the street from it) but we just couldn't imagine being there another night! I'd recommend a visit... just book the accommodation somewhere else if you want rest. We got approximately 3 hrs total and much interrupted sleep in a period from 21:30 to 8:30am!

The location, property and surrounding hills of the castle are stunning. I wish I could give a higher overall score due to the beautiful surroundings, however there were many issues with the 3 bedroom apartment stay and we would not recommend the accommodations for overnight visits. Check in: We requested early check-in, were told no but we could check-in at 1400. This in itself is understandable, but when we arrived at 1415 for check-in we were told the rooms would not be available until 1500. We ended up being let into the room around 1530. Apartment: The 3 bedroom apartment is spacious with three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The beds feel as though they haven't been updated since the building of the castle. There was bad woodworm in the queen room so we had to move the bed across the room to avoid wood shavings falling on us in the night. The floors/walls provided no silence, people staying above us were so loud no one in our party could sleep until after 0300 when they would stop making noise. Overall would rate sleep quality 1/10. Wifi: Very Poor Breakfast: Overall pretty standard European breakfast, but they had some nice touches such as fresh juices and honeycomb. The dining space is cool being in the castle, hours are 0800-1000.
