We visited this winery through a tour through Ciao Florence. Mateo our driver and tour guide was amazing. We had a very small group about 5 of us and had a very personal tour of the winery. In the tasting room we received some Bruschetta, a vegetable lasagna, and then Wild Boar with Peas. All the food was made by our tour guide and owners of the property. It was excellent.

Now to hear about the wine which is probably why you are reading this. We got a thorough explanation of the Chianti Classico designation and why some wines have the Black Rooster sticker. My personal description is that this designation ensures that a large portion of the Sangiovese grape from Chianti region is used and then requires every Chianti to taste relatively the same (Boring). My preference is for wine to have more complex tastes and aromas. We tasted generous amounts of Panzanello's Classico Chianti 2012, Chianti Reserve 2011, Il Manuzio 2010, and Vindea Toscana 2006, and Grappe. My personal preference is the Chianti Reserve and the Il Manuzio which I also bought to bring home to the states. The owner, Andrea Sommaruga greeted us toward the end of the tasting and had the Grappe with us. The Grappe is the best I have tasted in Italy.

By the end of the night we had made great friends with both our small tour group and the entire staff at Panzanello. I really felt as though I just visited a long lost friend and share some great wine together. Don't miss this little Farm if you are travelling through Italy. Its Amazing and so...

We stayed 4 days in Panzanello and liked it a lot. We found the apartment very spacious and all rooms large enough and well equipped. We mostly cooked ourselves and could benefit from the fully equipped kitchen. In the morning we saw deer grazing just in front of our terrace - very nice. We found the hosts - Ioleta and Andrea - very pleasant; although we did not have a lot of interactions with them. We also booked a wine tour and a wine tasting - the young lady who whoed us around was very pleasant and knowledgable. Like other visitors on this forum we found the wine overpriced. Still good, but too expensive for us. But as long as they find other customers willing to pay these prices we do not have an issue with this - this is the free market. Overall, we liked the place a lot and would definitely return there again if we had...

Panzanello is a gorgeous authentic winery in the Chianti Classico wine region. We hadn't booked but stopped for a wine tasting on the terrace which had stunning views and were looked after by a very lovely and knowledgeable sommelier. We tried a couple of rosés and reds which came with fresh toasted bread drizzled in their delicious home made olive oil. There was no pressure to purchase anything but we were given a leaflet with all the information and costs of the wines, oils etc.and bought the Gioccia, a sparkling rosé and the Error 404, a rosato which were absolutely delicious and such good value for money! We are waiting for a special occasion to have them. Thank you Panzanello!

A glass half full for each taste and a meal, this, I repeat, this is the way to have a wine tasting! Served a glass of wine with each course; a bread appetizer with different toppings, first dish the most amazing lasagna I've ever tasted, second plate a chicken dish that melted in your mouth. The 4th glass was dessert wine. The hosts & guide were friendly & knowledgeable, as this is their life. Standing next to these magnificent hills of vineyards and the impeccable manufacturing cellars you understand why Chianti Classico has earned the black rooster. The whole atmosphere and experience was simply outstanding!!

Our stay at Panzanello was truly special and a highlight of our trip. Andrea and Ioletta were incredibly welcoming to our group of 8 and really helpful during our stay. We absolutely loved the cooking class, barbeque, and winery tour at the property! So so glad we got the chance to do all of it. Easy to gt to lots of other great restaurants, wineries, and towns nearby and absolutely stunning views all around.
