Lake Orta — Attraction in Invorio

Lake Orta, Italy. 2014. Probably my favourite of the Italian Lakes, and the least Enjoying a beautiful relaxing time with the family soaking up the abundance of magnificently pretty nature and history around us locally.Orta lake, Italy beautiful shores of Lake d’Orta is together with a mild climate guaranteed pleasant holidays in northern Italy. Lake d’Orta is a unique location for lovers of water sports and hiking. the Island of San Giulio, which is about 400 m from the shore. Seen from the lake, the high bell tower of the basilica, the gardens, the linden houses seem to form an enchanted palace that rises solitary among the ruins of the castle. A large part of the island’s surface is occupied by the Seminary (1844). The basilica has undergone changes at different times. On the site of the original church founded by San Giulio in 390, another church was built in the year 800, later damaged in the X century. Of this ancient structure only the apse remains, while the naves were built in the X and XI centuries. The magnificent ambo dates back to the beginning of the 12th century, made of local carved stone (the same as the portal of the parish church) and considered one of the most valuable examples of Romanesque art in Italy. The four columns, different from each other, support parapets decorated with a dense weave of sculptures. Finally, you can admire the frescoes (XIV-XVI centuries). Leaving the church, a road runs along the entire island. Towards the lake there are the ancient houses of the canons, today...

Lake Orta (Italian: Lago d’Orta) is a lake in northern Italy, west of Lake Maggiore. It has been so named since the 16th century, but was previously called the Lago di San Giulio, after Saint Julius (4th century), the patron saint of the region. Its southern end is about 35 kilometres (22 miles) by rail, to the northwest of Novara on the main Turin-Milan line, while its north end is about 6 kilometres (4 miles) by rail south of the Gravellona-Toce railway station, halfway between Ornavasso and Omegna. Its scenery is characteristically Italian, while the San Giulio island has some very picturesque buildings, and takes its name from the local saint, who lived in the 4th century. Located around the lake are Orta San Giulio, built on a peninsula projecting from the east shore of the lake, Omegna at its northern extremity, Pettenasco to the east, and Pella to the west. It is supposed that the lake is the remnant of a much larger sheet of water by which originally the waters of the Toce flowed south towards Novara. As the glaciers retreated the waters flowing from them reduced, and were gradually diverted into Lake Maggiore. The inaugural European Rowing Championships were held on Lake Orta in 1893. A frequent ferry service connects towns and villages...

UNO DEI MIEI AMORI GRANDI. PARADISO BALNEABILE IMMERSO NELL'ARTE, LA SPIRITUALITÀ E LA STORIA. Lo considero UNO DEI LAGHI PIÙ ROMANTICI D'ITALIA E NON SOLO. Negli hanni è stato bonificato, ripopolato a livello ittico, so state fatte strutture più idonee sia per passeggiate lungo lago che per aree di balneazione. È il piccolo tra i laghi importanti del nord, ma è questo a renderlo speciale, oltre ai suoi luoghi caratteristici ORTA, la favolosa Isola di San Giulio, raggiungibile con o taxi acquatico o con trasporto pubblico (sempre mezzo acquatico ovviamente) l'isola ospita quasi per intero il Monastero dove ad oggi ancora vivono le monache di clausura, le quali per il giorno di San Giulio permettono non di accedere nel loro monastero, ma di comprare il pane di san Giulio, con all'interno gocce di cioccolato, io ne vado ghiotta! È un isola dove bisogna andare cercando di preservare il silenzio e godersi la sua meraviglia, si può visitare la chiesa di San Giulio e fare una passeggiata nella, praticamente sua viuzza, con gli sbocchi sul lago per le barche.molti caratteristico, da cartolina! Vi sono anche degli abitanti, pochi, ma vi sono ed un eccellente ristorante aperto anche la sera o qualche sera, perfetto per originali dichiarazioni d'amore o per coccolare parenti, ospiti o amici. L'isola è popolata anche da qualche gatto, ben curato ed accudito.

ORTA, ci sarebbe da dire molto, è un luogo incantato (e ben preservato) dove il tempo si è fermato, viuzze in piano, che salgono e scendono. Trovate sia in centro che all ingresso ristoranti, bar, gelaterie...un po'difficile trovare una buona pizza...ma per Orta questo ed altro. L'atmosfera è da incanto, anche il suo Comune, meta ambita per dire il fatidico si. Vi è anche uno splendido lungo lago un po'nascosto e che porta al posteggio di fianco a VILLA CRESPI, L'HOTEL RISTORANTE del Grande CANAVACCIUOLO... Una splwndida Villa in Stile Moresco da Mille e una notte, la location dentro e fuori lascia senza fiato. Se volete colpire la vostra amata o amato... portatelo a cena li e pernottate...un sogno. Sul ristorante del grande Chef stellato che dire, non ci sono parole di certo soldi tanti ma ben spesi, cenare li è una esperienza...

Di fianco a Villa Crespi avete il SACRO MONTE ancora abitato dai monaci e con le sue suggestive Cappelline... con la nebbia o al calar del sole fanno un po' paura con queste meravigliose ricostruzioni tridimensionali, quindi con statue che narrano la vita di San Francesco, è l'unico Sacro Monte che troverete dedicato a lui, il tutto inserito in mezzo alla natura con alberi che colorano tutto di splendide tonalità in base alla stagione, ognuna lasciante a bocca aperta per una ragione. Il Monastero non è da meno.... e da li potete accedere direttamente ed in discesa ad Orta.

SULL'ALTRA SPONDA, da menzionare ASSOLUTAMENTE È PELLA, anch essa ha subito un grande restyling che continua, splendido lungo lago rifatto da poco, una bella e lunga passeggiata, per chi le ama e perfetta anche per gli amici che necessitano del supporto della sedia a rotelle... durante la stessa troverete piccole e grandi spiaggette o spiaggione a seconda, private o libere per godervi il lago come vi pare, barca, motoscafo, vela, qualsiasi cosa.

NOTA NEGATIVA IN TUTTA LE ZONE CITATE, SALVO AL MONASTERO SONK I POSTEGGI, ANCHE ABBONDANTI MA ASSOLUTAMENTE TUTTI A PAGAMENTO.

C'è una spiaggia in particolare LIBERA, COMUNALE, IMMERSA NEL VERDE, CON SPIAGGIA, ADATTA ANCHE PER I TUFFI, DOTATA DI AREA RISTORO, CAMPETTI, PER I CANI e FAR PASSEGGIATE ...la SPIAGGIA DI PRAROLO! LA AMO. li dei posteggi gratis si trovano ... spesso.

Insomma ANDATE E GODETEVI OGNI ATTIMO...
