This is a 5-star lido. If you take the time to read the reviews, most of the negative reviews highlight the higher price tag. If you’re someone who spent time and good money to travel to Puglia, then this is not where you should stop paying the extra 20 euros for a beach experience. Few things I want to note: The food. This is not grubby beach food. This is exceptionally crafted and truly remarkable Italian food. The chef clearly takes his time to make a special menu, and please make sure to check out the pasta of the day - our day was a spaghettone with chicory and clams. Phenomenal. The location. From at least the other lidos I compared, this is the only one that has a Medieval Castello in the beach backdrop in this area. It’s worth it for that alone. The beach. They comb it everyday, which is why it’s missing seaweed and other unwanted surface junk. It’s a clean, powdery sand beach with reduced waves (because of it’s angle). This place was top notch, and I firmly believe it’s worthy the higher price tag. To note: I spent 60 euros in late-September for the 4th row, two Sun beds, parking, and an umbrella. I did not make a reservation, but I also went on a Thursday. So can’t speak of its need during the rest of the year.

What an experience! Pictures and reviews do not prepare you for the scenic majesty of this place. By far the most breathtaking Lido I’ve experienced in Italy. The grounds were immaculately kept and the water… indescribably blue. The only thing that compares to this natural beauty is the service. Ono and his team rolled out the red carpet for me and my friends. It makes me wonder how on earth do they give this same level of 5 star service to everyone…all day…every day. But they do. Our servers (the ones I can remember) Antonella and Aldo anticipated our every need throughout the need. Making sure glasses were never empty and bellies were always full. Speaking of bellies, Chef Mario was not only kind enough to visit us, which was so special, you could taste the love in every dish. Handmade pastas, fresh seafood, local ingredients. I could go on and on and on…. Thank you all for making this the best all day pit stop we could ask for. I’ll definitely be returning. Until then Cia and grazie to everyone who contributed to our experience that day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were really impressed with Lido Santo Stefano. The first point is that it is absolutely stunning - crystal clear water and soft golden sand. Is it more expensive than some of the other beach clubs? Yes - however you are not sat on grass away from the beach but instead spread nicely across the sweeping bay. You don't have any challenges of being trapped under someone else's umbrella shade. Really easy to book directly on their website - and really easy to cycle from Monopoli on a well-maintained cycle path. The team there are also faultless - we checked in at the entrance, after being welcomed by a carpark assistant even on our hired bikes and by the time we got down the stairs we were being welcomed by the lifeguard and escorted to our beds which were being swept and the umbrella put up for us. Through the day the team on the beach and in the lovely restaurant were available and keen to help. Well worth the money in my opinion.
