This was a truly awesome experience! We made reservations a few days in advance and it turned out to be the highlight of our day in Montalcino. Once we arrived we were given a short history lesson while we took in the amazing view. Tiziana was our guide for the afternoon and she did a great job answering all of our questions and explaining everything. Next we entered the cellar and we learned about the production techniques and different choices that winemakers can make throughout the process. She also explained the certification and standards for the wines. After the tour we went up to the lovely dining room and enjoyed a wine tasting paired with a delicious lunch. We tried 4 wines and had a simple meal of salumi and cheeses, panzanella, homemade pasta, and a small cake with the most delicious strawberry sauce imaginable. They even offered grappa and dessert wine after! Throughout the whole process, the owners were present and friendly, especially the one who runs the show...a cute little dog named Rubino. We spent 3 hours here, did not want to leave, and ordered a case of the delicious 2012 Brunello di Montalcino...plus a bottle of the 2011 Riserva to take home and enjoy during our trip. Tiziana really made it special by being super friendly and attentive. Not only did we talk about wine but also music, Italian culture, and even the differences between Tuscan dialects and accents! Grazie mille!

We went 2023/05/31 and we took the wine degustation with meal and visit. This is a very nice place, with interior restaurant room as well as terrasse with a superb view. The guide was very kind and explained how they produce this very good wine. They produce balsamic vinegar and virgin olive oil that we tasted, as well as their excellent sparkling Rosé, Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. Here is the package we got for 45 euros per person: three-course Light Lunch will be served into our dining room and is made up by : - A traditional Tuscan Hors d’oeuvre Cured meats and cheese produced locally; Traditional bruschetta (toasted bread) with our extra virgin olive oil and chopped tomatoes; Wine pairing : Rubius Igt (dry sparkling rosé) Rosso di Montalcino Doc - The First Course Hand-made noodles ‘pici’ with aglione sauce (little spicy tomato sauce with a hint of garlic) or home-made meat ragout; Wine pairing : Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Brunello di Montalcino Selection or Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (according to availability) - The Dessert Home-made cake or pastry The place was really enchanting and we had a memorable time over there! The meal was good and typical. It was the whole experience!

Forget larger, more commercial brands. For a true wine aficionado, this is paradise. An unforgettable experience in the heart of Montalcino. Poggio Rubino offers not only fantastic wine—but also the kind of personal attention that can only come from people who truly love what they do. The owner (la Nonna) welcomed us with genuine warmth and shared their deep passion for every bottle and every vine. You don’t just taste wine here—you feel the story behind it. The Brunello was exceptional, and the pranzo setting is absolutely stunning. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after the last glass. A must-visit for wine lovers looking for authenticity and heart.

Our experience at Poggio Rubino Winery in Montalcino was truly memorable. Despite not having a reservation, the staff warmly accommodated us, making us feel welcome right away. The owner personally greeted us, which added a lovely touch to our visit.

The wine tasting was outstanding, set against a backdrop of magnificent scenery. The cozy and friendly atmosphere, combined with a modern twist on classic Italian decor, was delightful. We particularly appreciated the feminine touch throughout the winery, showcasing thoughtful attention to detail that enhanced our experience.

During our visit, we learned about Brunello and the winery's specialty wines. Our host, Alessandra Marzoccho, was exceptional—her knowledge and passion for wine shone through, making our tasting even more enjoyable. Overall, Poggio Rubino exceeded our expectations, and we left with wonderful memories of our time there. Highly recommended! From...
