if I could give this place a 0 I would. this would have to have been the worst 'fine dining' winery experience we have ever had. firstly, the old waitress who wears at the pink lipstick was absolutely useless and had no idea what she was doing. we sat down, she poured us a glass of their sparking, not even explaining what it was or that it was their own wine we had to ask all of the questions! then we were served disgusting stale breadsticks and bread which were clearly left overs of what other guests had no eaten. the older man who must ahem been front of house gave us our menus, not explaining or recommending any food to us, again we had to ask all of the question. we wanted the whole fish and the cod and were advised by this same man that the fish wasn't available today so has to opt for something else. order two entrees aswell as the two mains. first we were served some small dish that was place din front of us not knowing or being told what is was by this same waitress. had to call her over and ask what it was and even then she had no idea the man had to explain it was cuttlefish and lucky I asked because I am allergic!!! entrees and the cuttlefish were so bland no flavour what so ever! so was the red wine we ordered, asked her for a taste of the wine before we buy a glass and she just came back with two glasses instead, at this point we couldn't be bothered and just wanted to get out of there. then came our mains, ended up going to for spaghetti sea urchin, seafood which was non existent and I got the cod both which had no flavour, asked this same waitress for parmesan for the pasta because there was absolutely no flavour and when she came back said 'in Italy we don't use cheese on pasta' yeah well if your chefs also tasted the dishes they cooked we wouldn't need to. then I look at the table behind us to realise this same man who had helped serve us also brought out food to a local couple behind us with the whole fish!!! let me be clear, they arrived after us and he told us that he didn't have any fish today. I then asked him about it saying 'I thought you didn't have fish today as thats what we came for' and he said 'oh I only had three' yeah there was no one else in the reasuatrnaut when we ordered our food so don't lie to us. we live on a a food and wine peninsula in Melbourne and know good food, wine and service and this place is a joke. WORST. EXPERIENCE.EVER. call yourself a winery? ha yeah far from it! things to change, staff, chefs, wine selection so...
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience after being recommended by the tourist office.
Staff were unwelcoming on arrival, and unproactive about finding us a table, suggesting we stand at the end of a bar instead of seating us. Once we had a table the lady serving us was uninterested and clearly just wanted to end her shift and go home, giving almost no information about any of the wine. We had to ask multiple times for some bread.
The wine itself we didn’t particularly like, but this may be a matter of taste.
When we were leaving we bought a bottle of olive oil and asked for a box or something protective so we could put it in our suitcase. Again the lady serving us was rude/unhelpful.
Overall a bad experience and would not recommend. There are probably smaller wineries in the area who are much more eager for...
Read moreWe visited on Saturday around 1pm and got paired with Isabella. The wine…spectacular, The setting…movie-esque.
For Italy, Buonamico is a very young winery but they strive to be true to the region but add some flare with their sparkling wines. The sparkling wines are so fantastic.
Isabella was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She was entertaining and had a great sense of humor. Our tasting never felt rushed and she catered to all our wishes.
If you go for a tasting and tour, request Isabella, you won’t be...
