- senza parole!
We felt so guilty after the visit. The animals are kept so miserably, it just made us sad. The fish, some of them alone, in a bare glass container with a single stone or a root. The parrots and birds alone. A small gray parakeet sat all alone in the cage and hardly moved. When it was approached, it let out little peeps. The macaw sat phlegmatically in an empty aviary with a grey parrot with a behavioral disorder. Just a few branches to sit on. The main attraction, the butterflies, sit on plastic flowers and dusty, rotten plants. Fungus and spider webs on most of the leaves. We were there on the first opening day of the year. But the few fruits that were on display were old, brown and dry. There were dead and dying butterflies everywhere. It was all so depressing.
In the petting enclosure there were 2 apathetic goats and a caged rabbit. It's just awful. Afterwards, you are then guided through the fairytale forest. Totally outdated and a horror trip for small children. Flesh-eating monsters, forest monsters and goblins, bewitched objects and their bloodthirsty stories... I don't know who wants to expose their little child to that.
Last but not least, the overpriced souvenir store where you can buy impaled butterflies... - without words!
An adult pays €12 for all this!
I know, the rating sounds exaggerated. But I'm lacking words to describe...
Read moreVery nice place to spend some time with the kids. We came here expecting to just see some butterflies and spend just a little time, but found a lot more and ended up spending over 2 hours here. There are a few sections with tons of very nice large butterflies of many different species flying around, and also some other interesting animals, fish, insects, lizards, etc. to see. My daughter actually even managed to get a butterfly to stay on her hand a couple of times, which thrilled her to no end. After the main butterfly/animal section (which is kept very hot and humid for the butterflies), you exit to a nice cool (relatively; even in August...) wooded area, the "Fairy Woods", where you can walk around and see fairytale creatures and houses etc. There's even a playground for the kids at one point. All in all highly recommended for spending a couple of hours...
Read moreAn extraordinary idea, marvelously put to life. With great attention to metamorphosis and life of these beautiful creatures. Unbelievable investment, taking into account the fact that they receive cocoons every week, and that the butterflies live two weeks tops. Very brave. No words can explain how happy I am for the opportunity to witness something like this. A must see when in this region, recommended for both kids and adults. Everybody can learn something here, while enjoying. I'm definitely going back one day. On site there is a souvenir shop, also offering snacks, drinks and gelato, of course. Other facilities available are the toilets, that are...
