Oasi WWF Grotte del Bussento — Attraction in Morigerati

It’s a 20 minute hike downhill on a well-kept path, and then you come up the same way. The first thing they check before they let you enter, is your shoes. Flip flops are definitely no-no, neither were my sandals. Bring good walking shoes, if you really find yourself without them, some Quechua ones are available for rent at a small price at the entrance. But do you really want to wear shoes that so many people have worn before?? Water wasn’t a problem, there were lots of taps with drinking water on the path.

I was there in the hot peak of summer. It was lovely to get to the bottom where the cave was, and the part of the river nearby. Wow that temperature difference! Not only was it comfortable, it was also the experience of a phenomenon of nature. In that microclimate, the guide said that they’ve found flora native to the mountains of North Italy. Right there, thousands of kilometres from its native place! That’s how much cooler it is. And the humidity sure helps.

There’s also the ancient flour mill that’s still there, powered by water. Volunteers are there to help you witness how already so Long ago people have learnt to harness the power of water.

Siamo arrivati e abbiamo capito che si paga Una bella somma pari a 6 euro a persona tranne i bambini piccoli 4 euro eravamo 2 famiglie con 4 figli a testa quindi 12 paganti per un totale di 11 a 6 euro e 1 a 4 euro per un totale di 70 euro ma leggendo abbiamo notato che se fossimo stati un gruppo da 15 avremmo pagato 4 euro a persona indipendentemente dall’età Allora abbiamo chiesto se qualcuno si volesse unire al nostro gruppo di 12 per formarne uno di 15 ma le ragazze dell oasi wwf all’ingresso anno ostacolato questa nostra idea, Anzi, con toni non poco moderati non sono stati per nulla gentili e tanto meno contenti di questa idea di fare gruppo per risparmiare 2 euro a persona Ora pensando al relativo ruolo che loro ricoprono mi viene da chiedermi Ma questo modo di fare e di tutti gli operatori del wwf o solo di alcuni ??? Queste operatrici che urlavano in mezzo a tante persone che questa cosa di creare gruppo non si poteva fare è normale o era giusto un modo per dirci di andar via visto che con noi avrebbero perso 2 euro a persona? Cioè ma vi rendete conto ? Le operatrici del wwf non volevano che ci unissimo ad altri gruppi o ad altre persone per non avere lo sconto gruppi . Sicuramente c’è qualcosa che non va in un luogo come questo perché non si può pensare che la natura sia un altro modo per lucrare senza avere un po’ di dignità. Praticamente sembrava proprio che rubassimo le 2 euro in meno dalle loro tasche. Ma mai possibile che un operatore dell WWF invece di incentivare le famiglie a visitare i parchi permettendo anche ai meno abbienti di poter godere della natura debba invece ostacolarli? Ostacolarli perché hanno iniziato a gridare di andare a vedere altri luoghi e non questo se non volevamo pagare i 6 euro a persona. Una famiglia di 4 figli avrebbe potuto pagare ,secondo loro, 36 euro, equivalente a una giornata di lavoro quando invece aggregandosi ad un gruppo avrebbe potuto pagare 24 euro. Quindi a malincuore siamo andati via, eravamo molto dispiaciuti. Abbiamo chiesto nel paese e sotto consiglio degli abitanti ci siamo spostati in altre località più vicine ed economiche. Gli abitanti ci hanno consigliato altri luoghi tipo capelli di Venere o cascate oasi di latronico e altro naturalmente a costi più contenuti o da visitare gratuitamente. Ad oggi, sconcertati da ciò abbiamo ovviamente deciso di cambiare idea su chi donare il 5 per mille e 8 per mille e naturalmente mai più al WWF così come consiglieremo a tutti i nostri famigliari. sperando in una futura riflessione da parte deI Wwf e dei suoi operatori porgo cordiali...

The beauty of the nature here is outstanding, particularly the river and the springs around the cave, which complement well this otherwise arid land.

It is really a shame that the monorail train is no longer in operation. Senior tourists could really benefit from it, as otherwise without a good physical condition and/or on very hot days, it is all but impossible to ascend and descend to and from the entrance downto the river.

The presence of many water fountains along the way is a great asset of this attraction, again particulary useful on hot days.
