gorgeous cave, rude staff. we came here in the summer of 2019, and i still remember a guide being rude to me/us. we’re american and she gave the tour almost completely in italian, which is fine - we weren’t asking her to translate for us, we just really wanted to see the cave. she seemed annoyed that we were on her tour, and at one point, shone a flashlight directly into my face, said something, and laughed. i was wincing and trying to block it because it had been so dark that the light was hurting my eyes. it seemed like she was trying to demonstrate why cameras and such weren’t allowed, but i didn’t have a camera with me, nor did i use anything with flash. she just seemed like a rather mean,...

I went here with locals and the cave was only visited by locals when I was there, but it is definately something to see if you get the chance. It's a natural cave and thus very old. The cave has two levels, one without and one with water through it, the tour, which you will have to follow, goes about 200m deep through both parts. The tour is in Italian only, but on request there is a one page paper that gives the descriptions of each room. With my little Italian I could follow the tour after reading this paper, but even without understanding the tour guide, I'm sure it's great to go here to have the experience to see all the different rooms, the bats and the stalactites, stalagmites...

We visited as a group. There was a bit of a wait for the guide as tours run every hour. However you walk down to the cave entrance to wait where there is seating, and toilets. The tour itself lasts just over an hour, with many stops for photos. They said it wasabout two kilometres walking, but it seemed less. Some of the passageways are small so watch out if you are claustrophobic. The guide was good, explaining the history of the caves, and how the stalactites formed. He kept the kids entertained describing the various formations as animals. Of Particular note is one that looks like an elephant with an ice-cream. A...

Entrance is only possible with a tour - you can find the list of times on their website. Calling to book in advanced is recommended on the site, but we didn’t and they don’t seem to limit the numbers. Tours are only in Italian and our guide had such a strong accent that he was very hard to follow, but the caves are nice anyway and a great way to escape the heat for a little while. The guide originally told us we weren’t allowed to take any photos, then changed his mind half way through and said we could without flash, so it’s worth clarifying what ‘no photos’ means.
