A Tuscan Gem!

We spent an unforgettable week at Villa Cosmiana, and it felt like stepping into a dream. From the warm welcome by owners Jean-Louis and Sean — complete with a beautiful gift basket of local products and wine — to the daily delivery of fresh bread and croissants every morning, every moment felt special. The property itself is magical: a beautiful blend of history and comfort. We stayed in La Casina, a cozy, private spot ideal for couples, with direct access to a serene pool surrounded by lush greenery and vineyards. The pool itself is a highlight. The setting is idyllic: long walks through the vineyards, picturesque sunsets, and starry skies every night. You can walk to the charming town of Peccioli in about 20 minutes, or drive 5–10 minutes to well-stocked supermarkets and excellent restaurants. But honestly, we loved cooking in and enjoying long meals on our terrace.

If you have the chance, book the wine tasting and lunch experience. It’s an enriching dive into the estate’s heritage, winemaking process, and history, followed by a rustic lunch that truly captures the flavors of Tuscany. The whole estate accommodates very few guests, making it feel like a private retreat. The service is exceptional.

I happened upon Villa Cosmiana by accident as I was looking for places of interest around Peccioli. The carefully designed, aesthetically on point, and descriptive website invited me to inquire about the light lunch wine tour. Jean-Louis wrote back promptly and I booked the tour for the following week without hesitation. I am elated I did. The afternoon of May 23rd, 2024 was the highlight of my week in Tuscany. The grounds, the house, the wines, and the company were fabulous. (We met a Belgian group there who were wonderful lunch companions.) This is a special place with exquisite wines carefully curated by beautiful, kind-hearted, and intelligent people. Do yourself a favour and visit Villa Cosmiana. It is a hidden gem.
