I do not give reviews lightly. But wow! What passion that exists at this small family run Etna Vineyard is clear everywhere! Mari gave us a personal tour; first in the vineyard and then a passionate tasting in her kitchen. We tasted 5 wines, all great. Especially loved the Rose and the Capu Chiurma, a red blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes. So smooth and so wonderful! We purchased each. Wish we could have purchased cases!. Mari at Azienda Agricola Filippo Grasso entralled us with a wondrous walking tour of her families vineyards explaining about the unique north Mt. Etna terroir and history of the land. We then returned to her kitchen (with a clear view of the peak) where she captivated us with further stories of the indigenous grapes that make up the superb array of wine offerings sampled with home made olive oil, sundried tomatoes, sheep cheese, local sausage. A multi generational story with its own twist and turns, a gorgeous property, a family clearly focused not just on making incredible wines but also on whats happening in the broader community... We felt lucky to be invited into their world for the morning.
