Faro Capo Rossello — Attraction in Realmonte

Daytime visit when the place was closed, but an open gate and being stupid tourists... up we went on the glorified goat track that serves as a road. The operator was doing some work at the parking area, a few hundred meters shy of the top. He eventually came up to politely ask how we got in - open gate - and said they weren't actually open until the next day, Saturday. He was friendly and gracious the whole time, but we took our pics and politely left with our apologies. There is a separate road back down from the parking area but we used the entrance road with its open gate; the exit gate was closed. The building with the beacon is secured to entry and the food and beverage offerings are from a food truck-like setup near as we could see. Looks like a lovely place to watch the sun set while enjoying a beverage...

Strange. The SP7 road is said to be a provincial road but it is closed by gate at the bottom. It looks that the place somehow went private and is only opened...

Il faro di capo Rossello, restaurato, torna ad essere un bene della Cultura di Realmonte. La sua luce, che da molti anni era spenta, illumina adesso nuovamente il mare ai naviganti. Da anni, negli spazi riacquisiti, s’intendono mettere in atto “momenti di musica, arte e cultura” in un luogo storico e tanto caro alla memoria dei realmontesi e di tutti coloro hanno passato momenti magici in una atmosfera romantica come solo la nostra costa agrigentina...
