Ristorante Nodo Ammare — Restaurant in Realmonte

Madonna. What a place. Incredible people running a fantastic ristorante which quite frankly took my breath away. It is not so common in Sicilia to get service this personable, welcoming, and downright friendly. I have been to this beach many times and I can honestly say that Nodo is now not just a kiosk or a ristorante, but a destination.

I’m English, my partner is Sicilian, usually I rely on her somewhat in social situations, but Alfonso burst out of the doors, introductions, smiles, and fantastic energy without any hesitation. I instantly felt like, and I don’t say this lightly, that anything was possible here.

The food honestly speaks for itself, the wine menu is great without exploiting you, and the sun-beds are well priced on the best part of the beach.

What I said earlier is more than true, Nodo is now a destination for us. I cannot wait to visit again. Great people doing great things, investing in the things that matter, for the right reasons. The same cannot be said for much of Sicily, let alone this beach. A...

I came this afternoon to eat, with a one year old baby. Nobody cared about us. The restaurant was almost empty. Only 2 waitresses serve customers at the bar. The boss was laughing with a friend aside. I wait in line, and when my turn comes, the waitress in front of me leaves without explanation. I'm patient. The second waitress asks the boss for help because there are people, he comes to serve beers to the same customer this waitress is taking care of. While he prepares the beers, I greet him to let him know that I would like to be welcomed. No response. Worse, a customer who has not queued comes up to ask for a drink, the boss always serves him while ignoring me, and without caring that other customers behind are also waiting for their turn. Per la nostra prima serata alla Scala dei Turchi siamo voluti andare sul sicuro. Lette le recensioni su internet (non sempre lusinghieree) e sentiti alcuni esercenti del luogo, il Nodo Ammare ci è apparso "scelta obbligata. Detto fatto. Siamo arrivati un po' in anticipo rispetto alla prenotazione ma non ci è stato fatto pesare: ci hanno accompagnati al tavolo e subito è iniziata la cerimonia della cena. Si, perché innanzitutto ci hanno mostrato il vassoio col pescato del giorno (mentre nei tavoli a fianco vedevano bellissime portate di pesce accompagnate dal servizio del personale che provvedeva a spinare e servire al piatto in modo celere e cortese). Il menù non offre tanta scelta, poche proposte ma sufficienti a sollecitare la nostra curiosità. Gli spaghetti con riccio e lumia erano molto buoni, ma i paccheri neri con salsa di gambero rosso e granella di mandorle tostate hanno fatto la differenza. Per secondo il classico fritto misto e il polpo hanno reso merito alle aspettative, il vino e le cassate siciliane "modificate" completato l'insieme. Tutto questo sarebbe sufficiente a consigliare il Nodo Ammare a chi legge, ma l'ambientazione col mare sullo sfondo, una maestosa luna piena all'orizzonte, la gradevole musica dal vivo in sottofondo, ma soprattutto la cortesia e simpatia delle ragazze in servizio al tavoli, sempre all'altezza della situazione, hanno rappresentato la ciliegina sulla torta.
