Riding this path was one of the best cycling experiences I’ve had in Italy. It’s a smooth, dual-lane bike route stretching for over 24 km along the Ligurian coast, from San Lorenzo al Mare to Ospedaletti, with breathtaking views, charming seaside villages, and plenty of places to stop and enjoy the scenery.

The real standout is how well this route balances performance and beauty. It’s wide enough to go fast or do intervals safely, with plenty of space to pass slower riders or pedestrians. Even in the middle of a hot Italian summer, the ride stays cool thanks to a series of long, shaded tunnels that cut through the coastal cliffs.

The most memorable tunnel, Capo Nero, is nearly 1.7 km long and features illuminated panels celebrating the history of Italian cycling, including the legendary Milan-Sanremo race. Riding through it feels like gliding through a museum dedicated to the sport.

What makes this route even more special is its history. It was once a coastal railway line, active for over a century, before being transformed into a cycle path. The smooth gradients and long straight sections are a legacy of the old train line, ideal for steady efforts or long, uninterrupted rides. In 2015, it even hosted a stage of the Giro d’Italia, which only adds to the thrill of riding here.

From quaint fishing towns to Sanremo’s iconic waterfront and the peaceful finish in Ospedaletti, every stretch has something unique to offer. Whether you’re training, exploring, or just out for a relaxing cruise, this path delivers.

La ciclabile è cosa nostra, della comunità, ma purtroppo viene considerata da molti proprietari di cani come zona per bisogni animali. La cosa singolare è che nella galleria di Ospedaletti gettano i sacchetti con gli escrementi animali nelle 58 nicchie lungo il percorso, non pensando che questi rimarranno lì per i prossimi anni. Prego i molti proprietari intelligenti e sopratutto educati di cani a ribellarsi verso queste persone che sporcano, in tutti i sensi, la vostra figura di amanti di animali e le strade pubbliche. Devo altresì segnalare che ho trovato grande sensibilità da parte dell’amministrazione comunale di Ospedaletti, che alla mia segnalazione è intervenuta immediatamente nel far ripulire questa sconcezza. Pista ciclabile di Sanremo e lunga 24 km e situata sul mare e immezzo alla natura e chiamata parco costiero della riviera dei fiori , e stata costruita sui resti della linea ferroviaria conosciuta per essere stata una linea ferroviaria di lusso .E stata costruita per attirare il turismo di massa grazie ai suoi spettacolari paesaggi .Questa pista unisce tutti i paesi della riviera da San Lorenzo fino ad Ospedaletti , percorre tutto il parco costiero .E molto apprezzata sia da chi ama correre , sia da chi va in bicicletta o sui pattini , durante il percorso si trovano punti di ristoro , bar , e negozi di noleggio...
