Vincenzo is an excellent host and extraordinarily knowledgeable about the wine making process. He is happy to share his craft and his excellent wines. Elinora is a shy and welcoming presence at the vineyard happy to join in the conversation after a little encouragement. We were a group of 7 and despite the language barrier overcome by using a translation app became quick friends with Vincenzo and Elinora. This is an experience worth the time and energy to arrive at the vineyard no matter where you start your journey. Read moreWe were very grateful that Vincenzo and his son were working during harvest, as although we arrived unannounced they were very happy to provide a tour of the vineyard, a tasting of their delicious wines and even some lardo siciliano piccante that Vincenzo’s father had made. We felt very welcomed.
It is recommended to call a day or two in advance so they can prepare for your arrival, including some Sicilian food for you to try. We left with many bottles of delicious Sicilian wines (our favourites were the Catarratto and the Cabernet Sauvignon). No separation of marketing and wine making where the rich kids run the front office and drink wine all day while others work in the fields. Vincenzo is the wine maker, grower, and business side of the entire operation. He knows the process from start to finish and his hands are legitimately stained purple from years of making wine. He's also from a multigenerational wine making family.
