Rifugio Alpino Aquileia — Attraction in Selva di Cadore

This was by far one of our favorite rifugios to start our trek from. After a long first day of hiking, we arrived to Rifugio Alpino Aquileia in the afternoon and were immediately able to check-in to our private rooms.

We loved spending the rest of the day and evening outside at the picnic tables sipping on delicious wine and playing games before our dinner.

The food, service and comfort of everything made the stay so memorable. And the setting against the backdrop of the mountains and with cows in the field was stunning.

Myself and a friend stayed here while hiking the AV 1. It was an easy trip down from the main route (30mintues) and it is perfectly situated to pick up hiking the next day going on on various paths, which makes planning super easy and flexible. Although a bit pricey, definitely worth it. The staff were welcoming and friendly and always explained everything. The room was cosy and the bed comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were both filling and delicious. Lastly, I left something at the rifugio and they sent me an email within twenty minutes so that I could get back to come get it, which I really appreciated. Definitely one of the best stays...
