A Journey through Time and Terroir: A Visit to Tenuta Tenaglia
Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Serralunga di Crea in Piedmont, Italy, lies the esteemed winery of Tenuta Tenaglia, a place where history intertwines with the art of winemaking.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the enchanting panorama of the "Colline del Monferrato" , a sight that set the stage for what was to be a truly immersive exploration of wine and heritage. Led by the gracious hostess Paola, our journey commenced with a tasting of their diverse range of wines, each one a testament to the passion and dedication of the winemakers.
The journey began with Otium, a delightful expression of the region's terroir, followed by the refreshing Monferrato Chiaretto, a rosé that danced on the palate with notes of elegance and finesse. Grignolino Monferace, with its distinctive character and vibrant acidity, captured the essence of Piedmontese viticulture, while the bold and robust Syrah spoke volumes of the winery's commitment to excellence.
However, it was the Barbera 1930 that truly stole the show, a vinous masterpiece that transported us back in time with each sip.
Beyond the wines themselves, Paola's expertise and passion for her craft illuminated the experience, as she regaled us with tales of the vineyard's rich history and the cultural significance of each varietal. Her knowledge served as a guiding light, enriching our understanding and appreciation of the wines we sampled.
In conclusion, our journey to Tenuta Tenaglia was more than a mere tasting; it was a celebration of tradition, innovation, and the timeless allure of Piedmontese winemaking. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this esteemed estate. Raise a glass, and toast to the magic of...
Read moreTenuta Tenaglia is a real gem in the hills of Monferrato, a winery located in the beautiful Monferrato area of Piedmont. They also offer a few apartments for rent located in a building just next to the main house. The apartment was on two floors, clean and quite big, with two toilets and a shower. The kitchen was small but worked for preparing breakfast and a couple of dinners. Good comfortable beds. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful.

The outside area offers a great pool and relaxing area that we frequently used during our week here. Altogether Tenuta Tenaglia is definitely worth a visit, and if you are a wine nerd like us it is worth a detour just to get your hands on their superb wines. You can book a separate tasing on their website (included if you...
