Ristorante Crea — Restaurant in Serralunga di Crea

We arrived with no reservation and the restaurant was hosting a special event. Even still they made an exception, sat us inside and even gave us complimentary plates! The staff were lovely. They had excellent gluten free options and the food was amazing. Some of the restaurants I have encountered in Italy feel very transactional, but Crea feels like you are being cared for and fed by people that care about your experience, like coming into the food vs. being on the outside. Less like vendor and customer and more like eating dinner at someone’s home....

Unico ristorante situato sul piazzale del santuario di Crea . Il locale è ampio e pulito . Noi abbiamo pranzato nei tavolini esterni durante una gita in agosto . Menù fisso se non erro 38€ , altrimenti alla carta . È anche possibile ordinarne da asporto oppure farsi preparare dei panini da consumare nelle aree Pic nic dislocate lungo la passeggiata che conduce alle cappelle . Note positive : personale gentile e disponibile , menù con più proposte adatte anche a celiaci e vegani . Note negative : la titolare , pur essendo una signora simpatica , se prende le comande , ha l'attitudine a farti scegliere quello che vuole lei e se non si ha una personalità forte ( come nel mio caso ) , ti ritrovi a mangiare una pietanza che non avresti ordinato 🤣 . Inoltre tempi di attesa un po' lunghi tra il primo ed il secondo . Veniamo al pranzo . Le porzioni sono abbondanti . L'antipasto misto è valido e una porzione soddisfa tranquillamente due persone ( solo le verdure a giardiniera sono un po' durette ). Il primo francamente non mi ha entusiasmato , ma io ho preso un piatto per celiaci e quindi ci sta che non avesse un gran sapore . Ho invece molto gradito il tagliere di formaggi assortiti con le composte , ottimo ed abbondante . Di dolce ho gustato una fantastica Pavlova con frutti rossi . Quindi riassumendo : abbiamo preso un antipasto misto , due primi , un secondo , due dolci , una buona bottiglia di vino e una bottiglia e mezzo di acqua e abbiamo speso 50 a testa . A great discovery in this tiny town. After a very steep hill (on bike) we were rewarded with excellent attention and fantastic piemontese food. Attention to detail is extreme, as was the quality of food. Very good wines and overall service, 5 stars, will definitely come again. I could not eat the fritto misto because I still had to pedal, but it looked amazing. The rabbit was the best I’ve ever had. Desserts were absolute. Excellent price...
