Grotta Gigante, meaning "Giant Cave" in Italian, is an awe-inspiring natural wonder located near the city of Trieste in northeastern Italy. As one of the largest tourist caves in the world, it offers a mesmerizing subterranean adventure for visitors.

Discovered in 1840, Grotta Gigante is known for its immense size and stunning geological formations. The cave boasts a colossal chamber, measuring over 107 meters (351 feet) in height, 65 meters (213 feet) in width, and 130 meters (426 feet) in length. Its vast dimensions create a sense of awe and wonder as visitors venture into the depths of the cave.

Exploring Grotta Gigante allows visitors to witness a remarkable display of stalactites, stalagmites, and other unique formations that have taken thousands of years to form. The cave's interior is adorned with delicate crystalline structures, sparkling rock formations, and intricate limestone patterns. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the natural beauty of the cave, creating a surreal and ethereal atmosphere.

Guided tours lead visitors through a well-maintained pathway, providing informative insights into the cave's geological history, formation processes, and the diverse ecosystem that thrives within its depths. The guides share fascinating stories and scientific knowledge, adding to the educational value of the experience.

One of the highlights of the visit is the "Posa Rossa," a spectacular red-colored formation that resembles a cascading waterfall frozen in time. This unique feature is a testament to the geological forces that have shaped the cave over millennia.

The cave's temperature remains constant throughout the year, making it a cool and refreshing escape during hot summer months. It is important to note that the cave's temperature and humidity require appropriate clothing, so visitors should dress accordingly.

Beyond its natural splendor, Grotta Gigante also offers additional facilities, including a visitor center, a museum, and a café. These amenities provide opportunities for further exploration and relaxation after the cave tour.

A visit to Grotta Gigante is a mesmerizing journey into the depths of the Earth, revealing the wonders of nature's craftsmanship. It is a unique and humbling experience that allows visitors to marvel at the vastness of the underground world. Grotta Gigante stands as a testament to the beauty and grandeur of our planet, leaving an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to witness its...

ATTRAZIONE CONSIGLIATISSIMA 👍.

P.S.❗️❗️❗️GOOGLE CENSURA❗️❗️❗️ RECENSIONE RIPUBBLICATA CON QUESTO NUOVO PROFILO CREATO A SEGUITO DEL VERGOGNOSO E INGIUSTIFICATO OSCURAMENTO DEL PRECEDENTE DA PARTE DEGLI AMMINISTRATORI DI GOOGLE ❗️❗️❗️STOP...

It's definitely worth seeing. The biggest cave in the world, which is open for public visits. But keep in mind, that the are 500 stairs down, and also quite steep steps up!!! Which is not for everyone. For sure all the way is absolutely safe. The cave by itself is wide, and huge. So I think even people with claustrophobia, could try to visit it. It's very easy to get out of the cave, in case you need it..No need to wait all the group, if smb is in a panic. There is only 1 way down, to the centre of the cave, and 1 way out. It's very bright inside, so there are no difficulties with darkness. Overall a very impressive and positive experience. Visited with kids, 6 and 8 years. Just don't forget comfortable shoes, and something warm, since there's about +15°c. And if you are planning to visit during the high season, I would recommend to book your visit. And check the schedule. In each group there's about 15 people, and each group starts every hour, not...

It lives up to its name! Massive! Their website has you send a message via email, recommened 2 days in advance, to reserve a spot for a tour. Entry is by guided tour only. We were able to secure 2 spots the evening before thanks to the very helpful and responsive staff. Justin, Christina and Cecilia were all exceptionally accommodating, responsive and helpful. Then A4 traffic delayed us over an hour and we arrived ~8 minutes late because of it, but they were able to still get us in on the backend of the group, but were also very willing to just reschedule us for the 1400 or 1500 group! Awesome customer interactions. The tour was good. The tempurature in the cave was awesome on an August day. The steps advertised are for real, I didn't count them, but there were plenty. It'll warm you back up before you get spit back out into the summer sun. Lots of really cool formations from the water deposits!

One of the best experiences I've in a while! The place itself is huge, but you can guess that by the name lol the infrastructure around is ok. There is a cafe/bistro, they have some souvenirs, toilet (before the cave obviously. We booked in advance by email just to secure our place, but some people didn't book and got in, and also some people have to wait for the second next tour so they could get in. You have to go with a guide, and she explains in Italian and after that in English. She was very helpful as well and kind. We went with the bus 42, and it was quite convenient. The ride up is very beautiful, and the ride takes half and hour or so. Just be careful because it only runs every 20min or so... So be advised to arrive before your time slot. The ride down was as easy as the previous and we could enjoy the view once again. Nothing to complaint.

This is an absolute marvel! This gigantic cave is a natural wonder that left me speechless. Exploring its depths was like stepping into another world altogether. The guided tour was informative and engaging, making the experience all the more fascinating. The lighting showcases the cave's features beautifully without disturbing its natural allure. The highlight, of course, is the iconic "Hall of Mysteries." The moment I stepped into this colossal chamber, I was left in awe. It's an experience that's hard to put into words. They also offer a free audio guide which contains more languages than Italian and English. There is always around +11 in the cave, so taking some warm clothes will be useful. The staff was very friendly and I even talked a bit with a guide after the excursion. Absolutely recommend to visit!
