Villa Pisani National Museum — Attraction in Stra

Past glory in a miserable state. Fantastic piece of art still reminding us of its past grandeur, hosting original furniture and tapestry (in a shabby state) and lots of work of art.

Worth a visit. Take a free guided tour. The guide was excellent and very well prepared.

The garden is a beauty -- but in a poor state and badly kept. The long and crescent pools between the Villa and the stable are beautiful. But unfortunately very badly kept. Full of dust.

Still worth a visit. Highly recommended are the paintings and the decorations on the ceiling and walls of most of the rooms.

I wish the villa could be cleaned, the furniture dusted and the window panes cleaned. The well-known maze was closed.

There is a parking lot close to the ticket counter (inside a gloomy bookshop). You need about 3-4 hours to see the fifty something rooms. Very...

I visited the Villa today with my daughter. The guide was very good and explained very well every room and the story of the Villa. I am happy to have done this tour especially for my daughter, who has already studied about this Villa in school, so she had the possibly to see what was taught to her. The only complaint that I have is that on the web-site it is written that the ticket includes the Villa, the 'Mostra' and the park, instead once there they told me that I had to choose between to see the Villa or the Park!! I didn't like it honestly. Even when we finished to see the Villa and the lady involved with the park's tour was free, she walked away from us and didn't bother to explain anything. I live in the United States, but I am from this neighborhood and I felt bad of this kind...

Abbiamo visitato Villa Pisani il giorno domenica 27 aprile, io e due miei amici, pronti ad affrontare una folla tipica delle giornate festive con sole e bel tempo. E invece c'erano pochissime persone, un'atmosfera rilassante e la possibilità di goderci appieno ogni scorcio senza la ressa. Un piccolo lusso inaspettato che ci ha permesso anche di scattare fotografie splendide, in totale tranquillità. Visto il caldo abbiamo preso l'acqua dal distributore che però ci ha fatto uno scherzo (si è ingoiato 1€ del mio amico).

La villa è davvero ben tenuta: sobria ma intrisa di storia, con un fascino discreto che emerge passeggiando tra le sale e i giardini. Il personale è stato gentile e disponibile, sempre pronto a dare informazioni.

Unica nota critica: alcune aree erano chiuse per manutenzione, tra cui il famoso labirinto e una parte interna della villa. Comprensibile, ma un po’ dispiaciuti perché il labirinto meritava davvero (almeno come ci dicono le voci di corridoio). Anche i servizi igienici erano puliti e in ordine, dettaglio spesso trascurato ma molto apprezzato. A tal proposito concludo con un aneddoto che merita di essere raccontato: mentre esploravamo i giardini, uno dei miei amici è stato colto da un bisogno impellente di fare pipi. Gli ho indicato la strada per i bagni seguendo le apposite segnalazioni, ma lui, forse ispirato dalla quiete del boschetto, ha pensato bene di appartarsi lì vicino. Peccato che fosse proprio sotto l’occhio vigile di una telecamera di sorveglianza. Per fortuna me ne sono accorto in tempo e l’ho fermato prima che diventasse lo spettacolo principale della sala...
