Osteria del Baccalà Da Linda — Restaurant in Stra

We had an excellent lunch here on our way to the Villa Pisana. The service is great, the room is charming, and the food is of very good quality and well priced. This is a restaurant where someone has decided to double down on doing what they know as well as they possibly can, and it really pays off.

We ate risotto with baccala mantecato and chanterelles/finferli. This was delicate and delicious, with just a little mint. We then ordered two of the baccala secondi - the house special with tomatoes and potatoes, and the fried baccala with fried vegetables. Both were wonderful, and paired well with the ribolla gialla we chose.

We wished we had room for pudding, since the list looked better than usual (I had my eye on millefeuille with figs), but made do with coffee and a homemade meringue.

Una di quelle trattorie tipiche in zona che mi ero riservata di provare, essendo io un amante del baccalà! Piccola all'interno, una trentina di tavoli, arredata con un gusto dall'atmosfera familiare, sembra di entrare in un vecchio casale di campagna dove la zia ci attende per una cena tra amici. Ninnoli, suppellettili e vecchie foto alle pareti, tovaglie a quadri e tovaglioli infiocchettati, i piatti bianchi, candele, piantine e cuori sparsi sulle tavole, tutto preparato con cura. Tutto il personale è molto gentile, ci sediamo e ordiniamo da un menù rigorosamente a base di baccalà, dall'antipasto ai primi e poi ai secondi le proposte dello Shef (donna) sono varie. Alcuni piatti ricordano la tradizione altri sono più creativi come l'entrée offerta dalla casa; mousse di zucca con baccalà mantecato e melograno, Buonissima!!! Abbiamo proseguito poi gustando i piatti della tradizione accompagnati da un buon calice di vino bianco. Tutto buonissimo e ben presentato, anche il dolce; gelato di Pere e cannella. Mi riservo soltanto sul Baccalà alla Vicentina, unico neo, in quanto bello nell'aspetto, bene nella consistenza ma assolutamente insapore e desavio e da qui le mie 3 stelle! L'intenzione è quella di tornare ed assaggiare altre portate ma nel complesso, a mio modesto parere, direi che è una trattoria che merita una visita. I'm willing to give it 5 stars despite the /slightly/ expensive cappuccino because of their good service.
