Convento San Domenico — Attraction in Taggia

One of the most beautiful churches in Liguria! The monastery church of San Domenico is exceptionally rich in artistic treasures and impressively designed - a real gem from the 15th century. The exterior is very modest, but the interior is elegant and unorthodox in design for the region and very impressive. The paintings are of high quality and a joy to discover.

The monastery is run by a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable gentleman who has information leaflets available in several languages. Also publications and postcards available.

A visit is a must, at least highly recommended!

We turned up on a Monday,not knowing it was shut. However the caretaker took pity on us and gave us a private showing. It was a bit like being the queen. The place was calm and beautiful. Beautiful place, and very beautiful artwork. Wonderful it is open to the public for visiting to see it here in Taggia. Staff were very sweet and friendly and gave a tour upon arrival. They had a booklet of everything in English for me to read. No charge for entrance, just a donation box....
