This was a great way to spend some time away from the gruelling Sardinian afternoon sun. We arrived at 12:30 or so and booked our tickets for 1. We followed signs there, which take you on a slightly confusing route, but trust you'll get there. Parking is quite limited, but we managed to find a space. Once you get there, there isn't much signage to find where you buy tickets (you can't buy them in advance.) You go inside the restaurant and then towards the gift shop, where you buy it there. The price is 12 euro per person, and you can pay with card, not just cash. We waited in some shade for the tour, there wasn't much guidance either on where to go or wait. One thing that we weren't aware of is how it may be strenuous for people who may struggle with stairs, it was a steep and rocky staircase to the cave in the heat. The cave is gorgeous, almost like a grand hall, you never have to worry about claustrophobia. It winds deeper and deeper with various chambers of stalagtites and stalagmites. Our tourguide spoke both in Italian and English and split us in groups. She'd explain to the Italian, then have them move further into the cave, then they'd walk ahead as she explained to us. This gave us time to walk and appreciate the cave. There follows many stairs to descent to the cave, some slippier than others, wear comfortable and grippy shoes and be prepared to hold the rail quite often. We never felt rushed, however. Our tour was interesting, but hearing can sometimes be difficult as the tour guide relies on the caves' acoustics, and if the seperate tour group is walking ahead and talking, their own words can sometimes overpower the guide. Sometimes people needed to be shushed. The tour took around 1.5 hours, mainly due to the fact that we go out the same way, which again means ascending the steps it took to get inside. There is also very little service at the restaurant. A worthwhile occasion for sure and one of the best caves'...
Read moreGreat cave that definitely worth for the visit. We were on tour started today 22.8. at 18:30. At that time many places to park. We bought the tickets onsite (adult 12€ and child 7€) and paid by card. At least huddie/sweater is more than recommended and of course good shoes because in some parts it is very slippery. In our group was 10 people + guide. The tour lasted almost 1,5 hour because she (guide) spoke first italian and then due to us english, otherwise the tour would last shorter. The way out of the cave is the same as the way into the cave. I must praise the guide (sorry, I forgot her name) - she was very kind and nice. The way back we were talking not only about the cave itself but also about the Sardinia, life and interesting things in this country. At the end, when we were leaving the cave, she showed us one of the cave inhabitants - some kind of salamander which is all black so the photo it is not very good. Nevermind, thank you once again for...
Read moreIt is one of the most impressive sight I’ve seen in my life. The cave is huge, it consists of several “halls”. With different “interior”. The temperature is 10 degrees Celsium, so you should take a jacket with you. The excursion takes about 1.5 h, but feels like one moment of absolute magic. The excursions begins every one or two hours. You can’t enter the cave without the excursion. Practical tips: the road to the cave is not suited for the beginner drivers :) Mountain serpantins were scary for me as I am afraid of heights, but the driving person took us to the point safely. The cave itself is suitable for people with height fobia, on my opinion. There is only one long part of stairs-in the entrance. Others are short. The stairs are made of stone, I did not experience the panic of height, as in other caves, when I had to go on metal stairs. In some places the stairs are wert and slippy. But if you go carefully, there...
