Returning to I Cipressi Winery for the second time was an absolute delight. Nestled in the rolling hills of Montepulciano, this family-owned gem is a true testament to passion, artistry, and dedication.
Emanuel and his father have hand-crafted not only their vineyard but also each bottle of wine with extraordinary care. Their hard work and artistry are evident in every sip, reflecting the rich Tuscan terroir and their deep-rooted love for winemaking. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family, making the experience even more special.
The wines here are exceptional—elegant, complex, and full of character. The attention to detail in the winemaking process is remarkable, and you can truly taste the craftsmanship. Whether enjoying a bold Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or a smooth Rosso, each glass tells a story of dedication and tradition.
Standing among the cypress trees that give the winery its name, I was reminded of Giosuè Carducci’s poem Davanti San Guido, where he describes the cypresses as silent witnesses of time and memory. Much like these trees, I Cipressi Winery stands as a symbol of history, artistry, and the timeless beauty of Tuscan winemaking.
I can't wait to return again for another...
Read moreAn absolute must if you’re around! I really wanted to visit a vineyard in Montepulciano on our trip so we came down from Firenze to see Siena and then end the day here with a tour and we couldn’t have gotten luckier with the vineyard we picked. Manuel was super welcoming and showed us around with lots of enthusiasm and his passion about their work really showed through! My brother who barely knew anything of wine had a million questions ranging from very basic things to more detailed stuff and Manuel answered them all in a very comprehensible way, making my brother feel like he really knows something about wine now. The winery might not be the biggest around but we could’ve easily spend a whole day here just listening to the stories about the winery and looking at how everything works. I’ve visited some bigger wineries in Italy before with bigger tours but none of them compared to this personalised welcoming atmosphere Manuel and his father have created and the thorough and passionate explanation that was given. An absolute must if you’re in Tuscany that I will recommend to everyone at...
Read moreWhen oenophiles talk about "the experience," it's often assumed that a wine tasting is enhanced by the setting (scenery), the fellowship, the food, and then the quality of the wine. Manuel and his father, Luigi, delivered on all counts for our travel group recently. A small mix up in communication on my end left Manuel unprepared for the arrival of 8 wine snobs, and without hesitation, he warmly welcomed us, and had a tasting ready in a matter of minutes--just enough time for us to take in the scenery of the stunning hillside. After a brief tour, we were treated to I Cipresse's entire line of products and were impressed with each offering. We met Luigi, who, despite a clear language barrier, charmed us with his kindness, humor, and visceral passion for making excellent wine. If you are looking for a high-quality small production operation to visit, I Cipresse fits the bill! We had a tremendous experience and I highly recommend you stop by to see Manuel and his family. If we ever get back to that area, we will pay...
