Un luogo molto tranquillo in cui sorge la Pieve di San Giovanni in Ottavo, una delle pievi romaniche più importanti della zona. L'edificio si compone di tre navate divise da pilastri circolari sormontati da archi. Nella cripta, recuperata dopo la chiusura dovuta ai lavori svolti nel cinquecento, si trovano reperti di epoca romana rinvenuti nei restauri e pannelli che spiegano la storia del luogo.

Beeindruckende Kirche aus Urzeiten, im Keller werden die Ausgrabungen gezeigt und oben befindet sich die intakte Kirche. Eintritt umsonst, nette Menschen und beeindruckende Geschichte. In anderen Bewertungen steht, dass man nur an Feiertagen reindarf - wir waren an einem „regulären“ Sonntag da aber hatten keine Probleme.

La Pieve di San Giovanni si incontra poco fuori Brisighella. La chiesa è in stile romanico, e le sue origini sono assai remote si parla dell'VIII e delX secolo. E' detta Ottavo perchè si trova all'ottavo miglio della strada romana "Via Faventina", che univa Faenza all'Etruria.

Nice little walk from Brisighella, but sadly only open Sunday afternoons from 2.30 for a couple of hours . We sat in the shade out side for a while reading our books ....
