Tenuta Monte Rosola is a winery based in Volterra, Tuscany. Dating back to the 1480s, Monte Rosola was founded in 1999 by Gottfried E. Schmitt and Maria del Carmen Vieytes. The vineyard, occupying 125 hectares, is now under the ownership of the Swedish Thomaeus family, who have owned the estate since 2013.

Found the place on google maps just by browsing around. Didn' reserve a spot for tasting or the tour. Went there anyway because it looked really good on the pictures. Gate closed...thank you for the couple who rang in. The gate opens for one the most beautiful views and even more beautiful people. Thank you for the owner and his daughter who still offered a chance to see everything and taste the vines they make. Really really great memory. Very much recommend this vinery. Easily the best winery I have been to. My wife and I are on our honeymoon and went here for a tasting. It was so far, our favorite memory from our trip. Antonio provided incredible service and I learned a lot from him. The meat and cheese were some of the best I’ve had. The cherry on top? Their gate was locked, but on a whim, the four of us pulled into their gated drive and pressed the intercom. We did a great tasting and bought a few bottles. Their first release Cab Franc, was simply the best Cab Franc I have ever tasted.
