I love Tsurugajo. It's got so much unique history, especially in regards to the Boshin War (Japanese Civil War). It's a really fun place to go, and the museum inside the castle is fantastic too. If you go, contact the local international association for a free English tour. They'll arrange for someone to meet you at the castle and guide you!

A Japanese castle with snowwhite. this castle is smaller then my expected. we take a walk about 10 mins go circle around it. unfortunately is was under construction when I been there. the wall is repainting. seems to prepared for Tokyo Olympic 2020 I guess. we don't pay for entry and leave soon.

The Park has Tsuruga-jo as its focus. The views of the fall foliage in the Park in early Nov are impressive. It can easily take you hours to take photos. No entrance fees. Parking fees are 300 Yen for 2 hours. Or, it takes about 30 minutes (2.8km) to walk from the Aizuwakamatsu Station. 1105-06

150 years passed from Boshin War. The Aizu feudal clan which it is ignorant about the history, but protects the Shogunate as Satsuma and Choshu to press for the foundation of a country and Kyoto lief-guard. I thought that it must not forget war of the Showa and the Boshin War of the front of it to have grown up in the splendid country which Japan could be proud of to the world in this way. Mind of the Aizu feudal clan where "it is not good not to have to do it" is still that it is handed down, but wants to just tell us and children.

Reconstructed castle that you can enter (for a fee) and climb to the top, for a great view. Some English, on signboards, etc. Tea House beside the castle is good too-- delicious hot or cold matcha with a red bean sweet.

Very beautiful. Came here during the weekday (10 April 2023) when cherry blossom sakura is full bloom. There was two food vendors around selling food.
