海老名市の数少ない史跡のひとつです。小さな場所ですが小さな森といってもいいくらいの樹木があり、そのどれもがきれいに管理されています。敷地内もゴミひとつ落ちていません。庭の石臼もきれいに置かれみすぼらしいところがありません。とてもきれいに維持されています。 ひとつだけ惜しいのは池の水です。これさえ澄んでいれば完璧です。管理者の方、日々ありがとうございます。 写真は海老名に雪が降った日のものです。

甲斐武田家の家臣であった今福家より海老名市に寄贈された屋敷跡で、園内には薬効のある木や草花が植えられ、江戸時代に建てられた蔵や薬医門などの歴史ある建造物も残されています。 住宅街にある静かで小さな公園ですが、淀んだ池が残念な所でしょうか。

ここを目的に来るのではなく、市役所から厚木駅にかけての散策の一環として寄るにはいい場所です。 緑が心地よい時期に寄るのがおすすめ。
