Patchwork Road (Biei) — Attraction in Biei

Hands-down favorite sightseeing spot in Furano-Biei area.

Had the privilege to take more time here as we used a rental car instead. Many tourist buses stop right next to the iconic line of trees here and quickly move on to the next location, but the real sight is up the hill past the line of trees. Beautiful stretch of land and hills weaving in and out of each other, a sight I was surprised to see anywhere in the likes of Asia!

Didn't expect much from a tourist spot that is literally a stretch of road, but super glad we didn't skip out...

Patchwork Road in winter is a truly magical place. The snow-covered hills and fields create a stunning landscape that looks like a patchwork quilt. Patchwork Road is simply astounding to visit on a clear, sunny day - highly recommend renting the electric bicycles to help you go through the hilly terrain.
